If this happens a lot, kitty needs to see the vet. Dogs and cats often do this, even pressing forehead to wall, when they have pain in their heads, teeth, ears, neck or back. Especially with breeds like Persians or pugs, this behavior can be an important clue. Or it could just be derp.

Depends. If these people were what was known as Irish Travelers, no, not Romani. DNA tests have proved that most (if not all) of the Travelers were Irish or had other UK influences. They have no particular DNA ties to the Roma. Also, I notice her hair is fairly short for a Roma woman. I’ve read (no doubt i could be wrong) that in the past, for a Roma woman to cut her hair was a very shameful thing. I don’t know if the Irish Travelers had such a strong cultural taboo.

Yeah, cats are good in hiding pain, sadly for them. IUTD problems sometimes show in urinating everywhere else than litter box... mine didn't, but as my vet said overgrooming is one of most popular signs... Also don't feed dry kibble if your kitty has this problem - it may make things worse.

Because licked-off fur is the first and clearest sign of that. In most cases overgrooming in so-called underbelly triangle is a sign of urinary tract problems, but may be also caused by too much stress / cortisol level too high, but then there would also be bald spots in other places than the belly. And how do I know? I have a cat with urinary tract problems. Chonk from the photo clearly has problems going on for a looooong time because it had bald spots with major irritation before losing weight and have even more after that. I would immediately check with the vet and avoid dry kibble at all cost.
