I think most people who want an open relationship and not polyamory are primed to have a bad experience with it. Poly relationships can work, but they're very different, and having casual sex outside of a monogamous relationship is yet another, very different beast. I'm sure there are counterexamples I'm not aware of, but generally, you can't just take a monogamous relationship that started as such, remove the monogamy part of it, and expect it to be just as functional as it was before...

Absolutely repulsive that you'd either violate your sister like that, OR even just make up a weird fantasy about doing it for internet points. To anyone reading, tampering with birth control falls broadly under the umbrella of reproductive coercion or reproductive abuse. Laws mostly are concerned with birth control being sabotaged by a sexual partner, but even if it's a deranged relative like this person, the victims can and should seek legal counsel anyway.

As someone that has had to cut a toxic parent out of her life, it was not something I did lightly. I did it so that I could survive and be happy in my life without her manipulation and trauma. I am in therapy to deal with the childhood trauma. We don’t do it lightly so although I am biased - I can’t help reading the victim perspective of my mother in this post and wondering what the daughter went through

Women and children used to die during birth. These rates have massively gone down but women are shamed if they don't enjoy everything pregnancy and birthing does. You can have a heart attack and bleed out while pushing, your baby can get stuck in birth canal and that can goes life changing injuries and is a common issue. You need knowledgeable people, who don't bring their own biases into room when delivering baby. Every woman experience is different. Some go in for couple hours, and some take 30+ hours to deliver. Doctors in UK/Ireland push natural birth all the way, so many children died due to women not being offered Caesarean (which is a surgery, your organs are lifted/pushed away to access the baby) recovering from this takes 2years, leaves scar tissue inside your body which can cause blood disorders or during next pregnancy rip, and you could bleed to death. Not everyone has same experience. Usually most traumatic experience stop at one and end up with PTSD. Google gynecology

She spoke from her experience. She stopped after one?! Not everyone experiences birth same way, but giving birth is extremely risky. With tears, to full blown tears, prolapses, incontinence for life, nerve damage especially with "baby facing wrong way". I don't have children, i had multiple miscarriage to the point where I am 30, and I have a dead bowel, I don't "feel" the need for toilet it just flows out. And apparently this is common (I didn't know it, nobody told me), it can get better with kegel and exercise sometimes, but I had to get my bottom cut, insides lifted, and I just miscarried at 6months, so I didn't even have a full term baby birth. Pregnancy and birth are traumatic, and getting clear information what happens, what can happen, and why- prepares us better if things go wrong. Most issues raise because woman is ill informed about her situation due to bad sex ed, movies, no real information.

"Boys at an age where they are ruining everything" - sounds more like can't cope with parenting them and putting in the time and effort required to stop it (working full time makes that hard!). Children can be destructive but you can't just let them get on with it unfortunately. Though you have a full time nanny as well? Why aren't they stopping it? Clearly she needs help with the depression and maybe a tougher nanny!! Feel sorry for the oldest daughter as well.

I kinda got to disagree with this. I have severe anxiety disorder, and when kids are running around, screaming their heads off, and the parents are doing nothing about it, there's not much of a choice. I either break down and have a panic attack, or I have snapped a time or two at someone, or I have to leave and can't get my shopping done just because someone refuses to reign in their child. Its more than annoying.

Well, as someone who has experience with a LOT of mushroom species, I can tell you that you can definitely overcook some mushrooms, also, washing is good, but please for the love of all that is holy, don't soak your mushrooms. It will 100% destroy the texture and they will lose some of the taste

At the same time, parents shouldn't be so self-entitled as to allow their kids to be annoying in every setting. In some settings, parents actually have to parent and teach their kids to be respectful. People shouldn't have to distance themselves in places they should be able to reasonably expect kids to not be annoying.

I hate how pervasive this "tip" is. Most commercially available mushrooms grow in manure. You can just flick he flecks off if that's what you want, but it doesn't magically make them taste better. The difference is akin to that between just using toilet paper, and actually washing your ass.

People Didn't Realize How Helpful These 30 Cooking Tips And Tricks Were Until They Started Using Them

That sounds like just a minor issue with your timing. It's okay, unless you're making a huge batch you can just take your pasta from your cooking pot over to the saucepan with tongs (without draining!) and stir well, finishing the pasta essentially in the sauce. That way your pasta will get nicely coated with the sauce, and you'll get that nice starchy water into the sauce as well.

Not even professionals can agree on whether the water retention of mushrooms matters. I have watched Frank Proto, an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education, gleefully dunk mushrooms and say that he can't tell a difference, so you should just do whatever you want. I'm inclined to believe him. (edit: messed up word order, fixed now)

Like if you're using a cup (any cup) of something, you should use roughly this much (measured with the same cup) of something else. I was very surprised to learn that people apparently have set, ut very different ideas of how much "a cup" should be.

This isn't exactly right. "Santoku" literally translates to "three virtues"- it's a multipurpose knife, and the name is often understood to mean that it can be used for vegetables, meat, and fish. Basically, all I actually use on a daily basis in my kitchen is a santoku and a matching petty knife made by the same Japanese blacksmith, and a cheapo bread knife from Tesco. I always suggest to people that instead of buying a moderately priced knife set with all the bells and whistles, they should invest in just one high-quality, well-made santoku. If you care for it right, it'll last you a lifetime, and it can do literally 99% of what needs to be done in an average home kitchen.
