Thank you for mentioning that. I should have clarified that sometimes you don’t have much a choice, and most breeders are really just fine. I meant more so don’t buy family dogs from places like petland, there are many more in shelters that need homes. For animals like ferrets, birds, fish, foxes, sugar gliders, etc. it makes more sense to buy from a breeder. I have no problem with well maintained breeders, but puppy mills are a serious problem.

What a sweet project!! It really saddens me that pet stores are the go to way to buy a pet, marketing them as though they are objects. IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET A PET, GET IT FROM A SHELTER.
