A very close family member is severely depressed. All the signs are there, he even talks about suicide. When you beg them to see a doctor or a therapist you hear "NO, I'm not crazy, only crazy people needs therapist". This has been going on for many years, and in the end just drives people away as you can't help someone that doesn't want to, completely refuses be helped. It'll end very badly, we all know that. It's a mental DISEASE, like any other, please don't be like this and seek help. There's nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to be guilty about, your can be the most privileged person in the world and still suffer from depression. Please allow a professional to help you.

The professor is wrong. What the students wrote is accurate. The professor asked what the STUDENTS would do. The students are from modern times and have modern values and know the consequences of slavery and what history has taught us. From their own perspective they would do exactly what they stated they would. Granted they're not taking into account the many obstacles they would face. But the values and knowledge the students have is important.

When you add any kind of discrimination, things become really screwed up. Killing someone in cold blood isn't ok. These cops don't recognize that right now, but in time they will.

There's a good reason this happened in the US. In the early 20th century we were spending 70% of our income on food so the government devised a plan to reduce the cost of food. Use corn for everything. Corn equals corn syrup which equals sugar. Beef, chicken, turkey all corn fed. Most products that are sweet use corn syrup. Corn is in everything. This lowered the cost of food dramatically which helped us out of the depression and improved the US economy since then. One of the major problems has been physical health. Companies have also taken advantage of this. Monsanto is a company that patented a specific genetically modified corn seed and illegally took over the whole US corn market. It's leading to cancer and even more health problems. But the pharmaceutical industry is now capitalizing on that. Many of our politicians are gettin kickbacks to keep them all in business. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Shumer and of course the Clintons are the biggest takers.
