I have a daughter who had the same issue in middle school, mostly because she is transgender. We spent a lot of time with me saying "I PROMISE, it will get better. Hang in there with me". I lived (and still do, sometimes) in fear that she'd kill herself. She's better now that she's out. I just wish she had done it sooner.
