Tap water perhaps. Especially if it was one of the refillable kind. I'm reminded of the time when I used to work at a pet store and family came in upset that the "Nemos" they had bought died. When I asked what happened they said that they had put them in "Nice, fresh, clean tap water" and they died in minutes. So between the fact that Clown Fish are salt water fish and the chlorine well, you can imagine what happpened.

I'm a slightly older guy (63) who grew up in a rural area. Crying in any way shape or form (beyond the age of maybe 6) made you an instant target for testosterone filled farmer kids who grew up fighting siblings. The school system with a "Boys will be boys" attitude didn't help. Most of the years in school were such a living hell with bullies who got away with it that I had severe difficulty dealing with homework due to flashbacks. To survive you had to grow a "Don't show your emotions under any circumstances." attitude. It wasn't until my late 40's when I encountered a lady who let me know that it was ok to show my emotions and cry if I need to. She may have passed away (Kidney failure) but I've taken what she told me to heart. Yes it's difficult to release (old habits and all that) but it's not impossible.

In my case I have had a feeling like I was being submerged face up into a pool. I had just enough time to say "Oh my. Goodnight Doc!" and then I was out. The next instant was me waking up in the recovery room.
