Iconic Western Fairytales Get An Eastern Makeover By Korean Artist
What would some of our favorite Disney fairytales and Western stories look like if they had been conceived in Eastern Asia? Korean illustrator Na Young Wu has an idea – her illustrations feature Disney characters new and old reinterpreted through the prism of modern Korean cartoon illustration, also known as “manhwa.”
Wu, who also goes by “Obsidian,” is quite a prolific illustrator, so be sure to check out her blog and Twitter if you like what you see!

I read the actual Korean Little Mermaid when I was a kid... they didn't wear hanboks under water.
There is a Korean Little Mermaid book - I read it when I was a kid. They did not wear Hanboks in the story.

I love ALL of them... Always want to collect oriental paintings as pretty as these
They are lovely.However most of those fairytales are Eastern origins(Europe)just not Asian origins.Disney has made them popular in the west.
Best thing is that theyre not having an hourglass figure. This is beautiful! <3
I think the Beauty and the Beast one is terrifying.. And the Red Riding Hood one kinda looks like underage relations..
Isn't that the idea? The Beast is supposed to be frightening on the outside but have a sweet heart or whatevs
