49 Artists Around The World Respond To Trump’s Refugee Ban
As you probably already know by now, Donald Trump recently issued a controversial order banning people from several predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States.
Unsurprisingly, people have been quick to voice their outrage while simultaneously expressing their solidarity with those affected by the ban. Many people have been resorting to art to make their feelings clear, and Hank Green has gone one step further. "For every reply to this tweet with a hand-drawn message of support for immigrants, Muslims, and/or refugees, I will donate $5 to the ACLU," he wrote on Twitter. True to his word, he's already donated over $5,000 USD to the American Civil Liberties Union to help them in their fight to ensure that what Trump does is within the realms of the law. Excuse you. You're forgetting that George W. Bush did the whole destabilization of the Middle East with his whole "war on terror". What was his excuse again to invade Iraq? And why didn't he do a thing about the countries most of the 9/11 terrorists actually did come from? Perhaps you should read a book and some actual newspapers before commenting?

I read on CNN news that Greeen Card holders, double-citizenship holders and legal refugees with granted status will be permitted into US withing days after undergoing a throrough background check up. So not forever (as the ban itself isn't forever - 90 days for visa holders, 120 for new refugees) and something a bit different than in the picture... :x
My friend from Germany said that was someone "who was forced to study German history intently.... Im scared for where the US is going" pretty eye opening and scary!

Guys... you may not like to hear this and I know it sucks for those people who are truly good and are muslim... but the culture (especially the fundamentalist and extremists) that many of these people have are very different from more modern civilizations and it's already resulting in very bad clashes in Europe. Many of the men from these areas that were banned view women as second class citizens. The New Years event in Cologne (Germany) is a perfect example. Many women were dragged away by hordes of men gathered in an area and molested/raped. Rape and crime has increased because it is a culture integration issue. British Muslim polls show that 52% still believe that being gay should be outlawed. Many still hope that Sharia law will dominate. I sincerely hope this changes with time but it's an issue that is growing in countries that have allowed massive amounts of refugees in and they are seeing the consequences. ISIS also uses these opportunities to infiltrate countries.

It would be nice if the news services and their followers, like BoredPanda, showed the TRUE information - the restrictions are 120 days for refugess and 90 days for visa holders. Poeple with double citizenships, green card holders and permanent residents as long as the refugees with granted status will be let into US within days after going a through a thorough background check. I understand the frustration and all, but please remember Obama did the similar thing in 2011. To be clear : I understand it hurts "normal" please and I solidarize with them, however please spread accurate news.
BoredPanda is a wonderful site, but it was tainted by the anti-Trump mania. The role of the press should be to check the facts and spread the news impartially, but recently virtually all media outlets don't care about it.

These are fantastic bits of art. Just tired of hearing about America, sorry for being so flippant but there are other things going on in this world. Russia looking at the decriminalisation of domestic violence for example. I shamefully accept this might be sounding very ignorant but I'm tired of hearing about something that people actually voted for. He was quite vocal about his intentions. People can't surely be surprised by the actions made since his inarguation.
I'm a left winger myself, but I'd rather not be reminded of this stuff every time I log on here. I came for a distraction from cruel reality, not a spoonful of it...

I would put destabilizing the region on the heads of way more people than just Obama and Hillary. What about all the stuff with the Bush presidencies? And issues not even having to directly do with the U.S.? Regardless, no matter what angle I'm approaching this from I don't see how this is "repairing the situation". It's dealing with the consequences, not repairing.

How the hell the symbol of the oppresion of the women in the middle east now turns into a symbol of liberty and human's rights. This liberals are f**ked up. Really.
I want to say "not all liberals", but I feel like that's a cliché. I'm more left-winged in my politics (Left-libertarianism, though, which doesn't seem to get much representation anywhere) and definitely agree with you. All the hijab stuff in this is really uncomfortable. I hate all religions, but Islam is probably the most seriously harmful in the modern day (though Christianity, especially in Africa, is a serious contender. Possibly equal, but this is coming from a North American perspective where I don't hear about much of that stuff - it's relatively contained by comparison).

Trumps policy should give option to people who don't have legal documents but still contribute to the country, to be able to live calmly and keep developing. I am christian but what he does is absolutely against humankind!!! It is not even against terrorism!?! It is against normal humans! I really cannot understand how Americans could vote for such an insane person!?!
