What do artists Robert DeJesus and Lance Phan have in common? They both turn strangers into awesome characters. However, while DeJesus does anime caricatures , Phan creates portraits that are much more Pixar-like.

Everyone keeps pointing out that people with Asian features look less Asian. You guys know that one of the staples of Pixar animation is the big eyes, right....?

The effect is called "uncanny valley". It happens when something looks very very similair to a human but is different in a subtle way. The artist is trying to counteract this by giving the portraits a stylized look. I think most of the times he succeeds.

why change the roundness of cheeks and shape of nose to more slimier face? and plastic surgery nose looking??? makes no sense is like feeding the ridiculousness of white beauty slimmer pointy nose and flat cheeks . dind't like it specially when pixa portray children character with natural fat cheeks and strawberry shape noses. many of this drawings change those natural features not just with the children but with the adult ones too.
If you expect them to be so similar to one another you might as well just use photoshop instead of putting in work for a Pixar interpretatio

These are all impressive, but most of the women look too similar to each other to me. I think it's because of the shape of the eyes/nose - all of them are very similar. The noses a particularly noticeable, the artist made all the women's noses smaller and cuter, which takes away a lot of the unique character of the face. I don't see the same issue with the men's renditions.
Firstly it looks interesting but getting frightening as scrolling down. It seems the CG are just plastic surgeries.
Guess they didn't send in any pictures or didn't agree to be in his portfolio. This is an artist who does this for money, I doubt he's making an effort to avoid black clients.

In general most of peoples' charming facial characteristics were removed. It's like taking away their best and specific traits and making them average. I didn't like it. And why everyone of them has to have small nose, round eyes, look thinner and have no beautiful big lips?
how could I get one done? I have lost most of the hair on my head because of a condition I have and would love to see myself with hair again.
