The Terminator-turned-Governator has been a role model for many since his now-iconic film aired in 1984. But 7 years ago, he set out on a whole new mission online. “Let’s just say I’m very excited to be back,” posted Arnie in a r/IAmA thread, joining the Reddit community big-time.
Today u/GovSchwarzenegger has 838K karma points, which is, well, a tiny bit of an underestimation. Because Arnie is never short on pure wholesomeness, whether it’s a nugget of wisdom, a piece of advice on getting through the workout called life, or some much-needed gym motivation.
So when someone pointed out what a lovely big bro Arnie is, it became obvious we were talking about one of the most likable people, should I say, “ever?” It’s time to take a look at how exactly the Governator won our hearts, and I promise, you’ll be melting in no time.

It turns out, the former Governor of California is a big animal person. Just take a look at this heart-melting pic he shared with Redditors. “Lulu is the mini-donkey. She’s new,” he wrote. He also introduced other members of the gang: “Cherry is the little rescue; her bite is meaner than her bark. And everyone knows Whiskey at this point.”

Arnold also turned to Reddit to invite his fans to an advanced screening of Terminator Genisys in Times Square five years ago. During a follow-up Q&A session, one fan asked him about his use of Reddit. He explained: “Well, as you know, I communicate quite frequently.” How could one not notice that? “And I love to listen to the reactions, and I think this is a great form of communicating. It is unfiltered, it’s just pure.”, confessed the former Governor.
The renowned sportsman and movie star is thankful for the online community where he’s able to hear the truth from the people themselves. “I like to hear the truth from the people rather than the press’s interpretation of the truth.” As a result, “this is a way where I don’t really need the press.”
He advised people to never be afraid of failure after another person felt demoralized

True story - one of my cousins was struggling with some health issues and working on getting back in shape after a lengthy illness. While he was in Texas on business, he went into the hotel gym very early in the morning to walk on the treadmill. He went so early so no one would see how bad he struggled. Long story short, Arnold came into the gym shortly after he got there and my cousin, already embarrassed by his struggles was going to leave because he couldn't let The Terminator see him struggle, and instead, Arnold offered him words of encouragement and walked on the treadmill next to him very slowly and talked to him for a while. My cousin said that nothing that happened during his illness meant more to him than one of the biggest stars in the world walking next to him at 2 mph for about 10 minutes and telling him that they were proud of him.
I wish people who are visibly and clearly at the beginning of their health journey could understand that 98% of us see them and think encouraging thoughts. It's awesome to see people transform themselves over the course of months/years and it motivates us as well. I bet they don't know that.

I mean this in all seriousness; I'm glad/shocked BP did this post because Arnold cheated on his wife and had a baby with the maid, is in the 1% and was a Republican governor (things not exactly beloved on BP) yet this post is acknowledging the good parts of his life. I hope this becomes a trend here. Nobody is all good, and nobody is all bad. More positive posts please!

He is an awesome guy and fantastic role model for anyone to be persistent in whatever they aspire you ♡
Working hard to restore his image. Sadly, I think it's all for show. California had a decent governor who'd worked hard for the position and was a respected public servant. Arnold wanted the job, used his celebrity status and got him recalled. Arnold, with no political experience, runs and is elected. Totally ineffective. Personal scandals emerge. History of sexually harassing females revealed. But he's good to animals. Yay! Oh, and he wanted the Constitution changed to allow people not born in the US to be elected president.
If that's what you got out of this post then I truly feel bad for you. You saw a post that was entirely positive, and you get an entirely negative review of it. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.
