Whether or not to vaccinate your children has continued to be a hot button argument across discussion platforms. Famous make-up and tattoo artist Kat Von D got in hot water recently for posting on Instagram that her unborn baby would not be vaccinated.

While substantial research shows vaccines are safe and vital in disease prevention, refusal of childhood vaccines at the doctor is on the rise. It could be argued that having these famous allies has emboldened anti-vaxxer groups, whatever the reason never shy away from sharing their opinions online. When science isn't on your side it can make these arguments tricky, but as you’ll see in these examples that doesn't stop them from trying. Some people tried to embellish their medical background, while others could benefit from a class in logic.

Bored Panda shares some of the best anti-vaxxer fails below, to show you better have your proof together before coming to the internet. (Facebook cover image: MangoStar Studio l Cover image: Andriano Cz)

Do people don't understand we have dangerous diseases that can't be obliterated by our immune system alone because a) those diseases are new b) therefore our immune system isn't familiar with them and can't fight on its own?!

Imagine being a carrier of a dead.y disease, like Typhoid Mary. She was a carrier of it, but never got the disease herself. She had to be quarantined for the rest of her life when they found out what she was, because they couldn’t cure her, and any exposure to her would give you typhoid fever.

This one is super silly. Even anti-vaccine people take small risks everyday that are worse than this. For example getting in a car. Even worse using a bike on a road. So on and so forth. The bridge has been doing good so far, and you would rather try to swim a huge distance and risk drowning or one of the other absolutely possible things that could happen if you tried to cover a large distance using your own power.

Soooo Pretty sure no one realizes that this diseases are actually perpetuated more in their manufacture than in nature. Yes we are MAKING these viruses in order to make these vaccines. Where else do you think they get the viruses? Again, LABS ARE GROWING THEM, in case you didn't quite understand the first time. What does that mean for vaccines in relation to the above photo? Only that vaccines are helpful in the sense that we're impregnating and propagating more "crocodile" into our ecosystem willingly. Take a bit of that one, "internet".

B******t - i grew up when most people got measles. My family of 8 kids went to school from '54 through mid 80s. We shared hundreds of classes and knew most of the people in towns and churches nearby. We all went through the diseases - and because of that - i have IMMUNITY (no vaxed person has this) from measles, chicken pox, mumps, etc. You MIGHT have temp protection, but my generation was fine - and of the tens of thousands of kids we went to school with in that 3 decade period? None died. The ONLY people coming back with smallpox scars were kids who got smallpox vaccinations. Nobody else got any. You put off childhood diseases when they are much less risky. Getting chicken pox post puberty as is more likely from vaccines (they last about 2 yrs to about 8 yrs) means your risk of permanent disease is 15X greater, your chance of dying from that is 20X greater. OOPS - safer to get wild chicken pox. Measles is also more dangerous when older. Flu shots are proven to cause more deaths a

and damages than any other vaccine. Largest cost to the govt pay out the many times that people PROVED that vaccines killed and caused injuries. They also don't help for s**t. Vaccine insert itself states that the vaccine DOES NOT REDUCE YOUR RISK OF BECOMING INFECTED WITH INFLUENZA! Kind of thought that was the point. Not only that but flu shots SCREW UP YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM AND MAKE THEM LESS CAPABLE OF FIGHTING OFF THE FLU - look up Original Antigenic Sin - it explains how each shot makes your immune system less able to fight off a real influenza danger....And it explains the Canadian Flu "Paradox" - why people with increased vaccination for flu have higher flu rates the following year....

Wow. I wish when people are trying to sound more intelligent and learned that all the doctors, scientists and biologists, that they would learn to spell and at least take a stab at punctuation. They'd still sound ignorant, but at least it wouldn't be so painful to read their arguments.

My doctor has a Facebook page, it has been fun over the years watching her eviscerate anti-vaxxers and anti-flu shot proponents with facts and logic. Some idiot came at her with the "for profit" argument about the flu shots and she gave a very detailed, itemized list of her expenses regarding flu shots and explained how she not only doesn't make a profit, some years takes a huge loss and made him look like a total dolt. She's awesome!

Oh my. They probably didn't catch it and die from it because all the sane people who are vaccinated massively reduced everyone's odds of catching it. How can these people not see that, if we all gave up vaccines, these diseases would re-establish over time?!

Strictly speaking, Washington had his troops variolated - innoculated with a less deadly form of the smallpox virus, variola major. Soon after Washington's innoculation process Edward Jenner worked out that inoculation with the much more harmless vaccinia virus (commonly known at the time as copox) gave cross-protection with smallpox, and instituted the practice of vaccination. Washington's innoculation, whilst completely successful, was more potentially more dangerous, but it certainly helped to establish the principle of protection by innoculation. And finally - antivaccination is a totally borked notion...
