Whether or not to vaccinate your children has continued to be a hot button argument across discussion platforms. Famous make-up and tattoo artist Kat Von D got in hot water recently for posting on Instagram that her unborn baby would not be vaccinated.
While substantial research shows vaccines are safe and vital in disease prevention, refusal of childhood vaccines at the doctor is on the rise. It could be argued that having these famous allies has emboldened anti-vaxxer groups, whatever the reason never shy away from sharing their opinions online. When science isn't on your side it can make these arguments tricky, but as you’ll see in these examples that doesn't stop them from trying. Some people tried to embellish their medical background, while others could benefit from a class in logic.

Having lived in a county where a Whooping Cough outbreak occurred because an Anti-vaxer mom didn't want her kid to be autistic, I have to say..GET THE DAMN VACCINATION!. I had friends that were put in quarantine and couldn't go home to their toddlers or babies because they were exposed to whooping cough. Vaccines are 50% about protecting yourself and 50% about protecting the people around you who are unable to be vaccinated..like newborns and the elderly!
I agree. I have twins with autism and another son who doesn't. I have never assumed vaccines are what caused their autism and if I had it to do over I would still get them vaccinated. I literally just got the vaccine for tetanus at nurse's office few weeks ago. I went there to get ab-hepatitis (as I travel a lot) and she was like "when was your last tetanus" and I was like "9 years ago" and she was like "okay, let me put one of those too" :D :D (We take one every ten years here in Finland, it's free.) wait a minute: is the issue the Tdap or the Tdap with a pregnancy? seems reasonable the hospital should require an up-to-date vaccine either way. what worries me is that the only way the hospital knew is because of the maternity leave.
As someone who was just pregnant...they actually recommend you get the tdap during your third trimester. Whopping cough (aka pertussis) is actually deadly for newborns so the mother can pass on some immunity if she gets the injection while pregnant. I think the hospital asked her to get it and and her OB gave her a deferral to get it during her 3rd trimester and when she didn't get it at that time, they reminded her she had to, and when she STILL didn't get it, they let her go. I have no sympathy for her. I had my daughter at the high of the flu season this year, we didn't let anyone come close to her that didn't have a current flu shot or Tdap, no reason to risk it!

School boards have allowed unvaccinated kids to go to public schools if they have a "religious" objection. We work in a hospital! I went to the CDC website, and NOWHERE did it say such a thing. I was furious with her, because i could see people on her friends list panicking in the replies on it. I feel we are all in danger of the consequences the stupidity of others will bring towards us.The only antivaxers I know personally are barely literate Facebook warriors & unemployeed moms with 0 experience on the subject. I have never met a well educated professional or a doctor who is against vaccines. Having opinion on a subject you know nothing about is one thing,but endagering others with your stupidity is just selfish.I personally believe people who refuse vaccines should be banned from all medical care for life- since they know more than doctors, because they watched YouTube videos maybe they should treat themselves with herbs and potions like in the ancient times when people lived until 35-40. A lot of people don't bother with the flue shot because in general a healthy young person should be able to fight it off. But there's no reason not to do the infectious disease shots, even if it's traumatic. Also, just getting half doses is the same with not getting them at all. Educate yourself and others on the subject, and remember that you can get the vaccines even as an adult, when parents have no say in what you do. It was on BP the other day too, how a young woman got her shots after she became an adult.

Regardless of what this site says about anti-vaxers Covid19 is an experimental vaccine that was rushed to production in record time and have no idea of the long term side-effects. A lot of people don't bother with the flue shot because in general a healthy young person should be able to fight it off. But there's no reason not to do the infectious disease shots, even if it's traumatic. Also, just getting half doses is the same with not getting them at all. Educate yourself and others on the subject, and remember that you can get the vaccines even as an adult, when parents have no say in what you do. It was on BP the other day too, how a young woman got her shots after she became an adult.
