Whether or not to vaccinate your children has continued to be a hot button argument across discussion platforms. Famous make-up and tattoo artist Kat Von D got in hot water recently for posting on Instagram that her unborn baby would not be vaccinated.

While substantial research shows vaccines are safe and vital in disease prevention, refusal of childhood vaccines at the doctor is on the rise. It could be argued that having these famous allies has emboldened anti-vaxxer groups, whatever the reason never shy away from sharing their opinions online. When science isn't on your side it can make these arguments tricky, but as you’ll see in these examples that doesn't stop them from trying. Some people tried to embellish their medical background, while others could benefit from a class in logic.

Bored Panda shares some of the best anti-vaxxer fails below, to show you better have your proof together before coming to the internet. (Facebook cover image: MangoStar Studio l Cover image: Andriano Cz)

You will probably not die, but people with a weak immune system might, because in the Western world several old, almost eradicated deseases are coming back thanks to people who beliebe vaccinations are superfluous.

Why the " - " in the middle of words? Must have been something about the way the OP typed? Cause it is really annoying. This comes from a person who gets annoyed when others correct posts that the use of your and you're were wrong, when it is obvious what they were typing.

First I got measles when I was almost 3, then I got TB from drinking milk - 15-20 others had the same milk (on a farm) as I did, but no-one else had just had measles and they weren't affected. It's thought that if my resistance wasn't so very low from the measles, neither was I. A friend also had to have his eyes removed because of measles spots on them - that's how dangerous measles is.

Damn, that's scary. I've never heard of someone having to have their eyes removed because of measles. That's awful. I'm sorry you and your friend had to go through that. I hope your friend lived and was able to have some quality of life. Thank God we now have those vaccines available for our children.

Well put! Also antivaccinators... the amount of a vaccine contains such small amounts of this stuff, someone could inject you with a vaccine and you’d never even know it was in there. And you really need to do your homework on autism. Also, that is being discovered to run in families. So take that and expose yourself to the truth, rather than a bunch of fake vac facts!

It gets tiring how, even among supposedly progressive thinkers, vegans are still somehow acceptable targets for bashing and bullying. When I see a vegan acting like a d**k, I slam them for it. Like being atheist, the majority of vegans aren't elitist a******s out to wreck your life. Most of us generally keep it to ourselves until food or diet comes up, mostly because, even in perfectly relevant context, someone will start bullying or mocking us for it if we mention it (or, f**k forbid, try to spread facts to defeat the myths).

Does not need to be that far back. Go talk to grandmothers with adult children who were born with the results of exposure to rubella whilst in-utero. This is why today pregnant women in most developed countries that do pre-natal screening checks, MMR immunity levels are tested. It is also why they recommend as part of pre-conception planning you have an MMR vaccine if your Rubella IgG is found to be low as the vaccine is cheap insurance against potentially fatal consequences. Also if you have not had a vaccine containing pertussis (whooping cough) recently and are pregnant, planning to be or will be in close contact with a newborn before they can be vaccinated go get a dTPa and protect the newborn during the first weeks when they cannot be vaccinated

The approach of effectively saying "if you don't vaccinate, your children WILL DIE" is unhelpful. I know that's not what they meant to say, but that's how it comes across. It's trivial for anti-vaxxers to point at this and say it's overblown hyperbole, and use it as an excuse to ignore everything else that was said.

I really think people who don't vaccinate should pay more to health care and daycare. If I would know a child isn't vaccinated in the daycare, I really wanted to know it. And they are al acting so tough about, but wait untill there child is going to die of some illness that could have prevented.

If vaccines worked so well, they would be protective against those who are not vaccinated and voluntary. The notion that my child should be vaccinated because you are worried about something doesn't fly in this case. Get vaccinated of you want to, then you'll be safe, right, because that is what vaccines are supposed to do. BW, polio was never eradicated. The name was changed to names like "acute flaccid paralysis." When somone who hasn't been vaccinated gets it, it is called polio. When a person who has been vaccinated gets it it is called acute flaccid paralysis. Do you see how this game works?

It's a SYMPTOM of polio. No one changed the name. AFP happens without polio as well. Vaccines DO work "so well." You have to actually take them for them to work, though. If you want your child to get mumps, measles, smallpox, et cetera, you are unfit to have a child. It's not because I'm "worried about something." It's because we have outbreaks where ignorant people don't vaccinate. Usually those idiots are already vaccinated and don't get sick, but the kids do and sometimes die. The only thing flaccid is your understanding of vaccines.

There are a large number of unvaccinated persons. They don't die. Where is that placebo group showing that no one dies from vaccines? Or that vaccines don't cause damage later in life? The statisticians at many clinics have records of people dying from vaccines, so we know they are not perfectly safe. Like all medicine, it should be voluntary and no one should be punished for their decisions. Lets punish all those parents who feed their kids c**p and cause them to have a host of illnesses and obesity if we are going to mandate what parents do.

Each person has right to opinion. Just because you have education doesn't mean you are the one who has all the answers. Also what's with all the - with words that don't need it? It really actually makes it look like you took a bunch of facts off Google and different articles then compiled them together to make your argument seem plausible. Vaccines aren't always the way to go. For instance flu shot is never guaranteed to be the right strand every year so it isn't always going to help prevent flu. Also known fact formaldehyde can be found in every day products like toothpaste. So you want to help reduce chances of being sick or contracting diseases try naturopathic ways which won't harm your body in long term. The medications and vaccines given to others can have different results for every person. Yeah the pharmacists and doctors know what they are doing but they are human and make mistakes too...I know firsthand of that.

So many things wrong here - mercury being safe because a "scientist" mixed it up? Whoah! suspending the laws of physics and biochemistry for the saints involved here? There are ZERO scientific safety studies. You MUST have a control group with an inert substance to compare any vaccine against. This has literally NEVER happened in the history of vaccines by industry or the CDC. (Private corporation listed Dunn&Bradstreet - main shareholder USA- 60%of the shares) So you have things like MMRII where the study group gets 3 vaccines, the fake control group gets two normal vaccines (matching study group) and then a MMRII minus the pathogenic genetics. Still has the neurotoxic aluminum. Still has carcinogens. Still has detergents like polysorbate 20 &/or 80 to break the blood brain barrier and poison it. So no possibly valid safety conclusions about MMRII can be reached at all. It is total JUNK SCIENCE - that you rely upon. (Buzzer sound - you fail) Herd immunity is a lie from vaccines.

I'm confused by this one. What does gender have to do with it... or the gun epidemic for that matter? Way off message.
