This Mom Didn’t Want To Vaccinate Her Baby, So Her Doctor Responded In The Best Way
If you’re a regular reader of Bored Panda you are probably aware of our stance on vaccination by now. We encourage you to vaccinate your kids, and think the best response to those who deny science and common sense to endanger public health are cold, hard facts, along with a healthy dose of humor.
The latest example of this is from a doctor responding on reddit to the question “What is your most surprising ‘I can’t believe I have to have this conversation with an adult’ story?”
Now celebrities, especially in starstruck USA, already have way too influential a voice in areas where they have no educational background or expertise. Would you want Rihanna as the pilot on your flight to Florida? No, because she has no idea what she’s doing and would have you down in a ball of flames in around FourFiveSeconds. So why would you put your child’s life in the hands of Jenny McCarthy?
You wouldn’t. And this doctor’s response perfectly illustrates why people should stop listening to unqualified opinions, and seek out advice from those who have the relevant training and expertise. It’s just simple common sense!
Scroll down below to check it out for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments!
We all want what’s best for our kids, which is why it’s a good idea to take the advice of your doctor rather than actors

After someone on reddit asked the medical community about their shocking experiences with patients
This doctor voiced frustration with people choosing to seek advice in the wrong places
Here’s what people had to say about it
This topic makes me so mad I want to cry. I have a son with severe autism. Do you think it’s right to blame Mother’s for their child’s autism. Those mothers know sweet FA about autism. Those people know sweet FA about vaccinations. It makes me so upset, to read, people manipulate others, for their own gain, knowing f-£k all what they are talking about . My son is the most beautiful sweetest funny clever adorable young adult. Let’s say, he is a better person than they ever ever will be. He doesn’t even need to try ! that’s who he is. Am I a bad parent for bringing up such a lovely kind clever adorable person like that. I don’t think so.
Biggest smile I had on my face yesterday was taking my 27-year old autistic son to Build-A-Bear. I love how the staff treated him like any other kid..including involving him in the stuffing process of his carefully picked out Pikachu. When we were standing in line to pay, a lady comments "You really made someone's day." I turn around to see my son hugging that Pikachu like it was a long lost friend. I was apprehensive about spending that much on it until I saw that. Made it worth every penny.
Load More Replies...The akward news is that I get downvotes if I comment on another posts where medical advice was given by Tumblr users. But in that case it was the "right" advice. The thing is that people need to be educated about creditable sources. You cannot expect everyone to use Google Scholar and read scientific papers for any small issue, but people referring to a book by a playmate (and not otherwise-educated person) is plainly pathetic. But hey, nowadays those people become presidents world-wide that tweet the most shocking things, routinely lacking of any sources, and commonly even against the facts in the sources they must have at hand.
That is because the internet is like real life. 75% is low educated/Not interested in the time/work it takes to get real knowledge.
Load More Replies...I think the worst part of all this is that based the reasons that parents who don't vaccinate their children give they would rather take their chances that their child die from a preventable disease as appose to be alive with autism. Their thinking is literally better dead than autistic. It's horrible. It is practically a hate group hiding behind fake medical research.
Yeah, I groaned out loud at that. Stupid people....
Load More Replies...He only "shut her down" if she did indeed have her child vaccinated after hearing his arguments. Otherwise he just ranted about her. Antivaxxers are not "shut down" or "roasted" by arguments like these. They believe stupid s**t already. Facts aren't going to make them stop believing stupid s**t.
I cannot believe that there are people out there that would play God with their child's health like this. Just because a vacuous bubble brained "celebrity" says something about what ever they believe in doesn't mean it's true. Far from it. Your child is the most precious thing in your life. You as a parent have the responsibility to protect him/her from every disease you can. They depend on you to do what's best for them and what you do now is what can effect them for the rest of their lives. How can you look your child in the face while they're seriously ill and know that a simple vaccine could have prevented all the pain and suffering they're going through .? If you love your child TAKE ADVICE FROM A DOCTOR who has spent at least 10 years in med school and as an intern working and learning from other doctors and the rest of his career looking after and curing people and keeping them healthy and not the words of some idiot playgirl who just wants to sell you something.
This is the same problem with her ex, Jim Carrey. Dude is my f*****g idol, but when I found out he was an anti-vaxxer, I had to ask myself how someone who is a comedy movie genius can also believe something so stupid at the same time?
and especially because he's appears to be very intelligent in other respects
Load More Replies...F*cking anti-vaccinators. They are endangering the lives of themselves and their kids. They don't even deserve kids at all

so many people are on the spectrum. So many have achieved great things, or are just great people.
Load More Replies...I can actually understand that wonder of anti-vaxxers that autism comes from vaccination ... Imagine how hard it is to accept that your children is not like the others because of you ? Who want to be the origin of his child autism ? It's sooo easier to accuse the medical system, the doctors, the gluten, the air pollution or whatever then accept your genes are not the best for reproducing.
This is what plagues Autism Speaks. People looking for any excuse as to why they have an autistic child that doesn't involve genetics. I had one girl that accosted me outside a University Building that thought she was being all clever saying that it was my fault that my son was autistic (she just scraped through an anthropology class on inheritance and this was in 2001). I said "actually, they have no idea what causes autism. They think it may be depression on one or both sides of the family. But I'm not going to speculate as to why because my son needs my undivided attention, not finger pointing." This is also a girl that insisted I graded her paper wrong because "I only got A's in high school." My response to her .."Welcome to college."
Load More Replies...My brother-in-law didn't get the flu vaccine last year. He died. He was 62. My sisters and I were vaccinated. We're alive.
I got shingles. I was too young for the vaccine. I was sick for 4 months. A year later, I'm still recovering. I got the vaccine one month ago--it will cost me $500 (two doses 6 months apart), and it's worth every penny. If I'd been 70, or had a weakened immune system, I surely would have died. Everyone who's had chicken pox should have this vaccine, and oh my god, now they have a vaccine for chicken pox--think of all the suffering and death that won't happen!!!
Load More Replies...We can vaccinate for stupid... it's called Vasectomy.... get one you dumb shits
Jenny also claimed her son was a "star child" before he was diagnosed.
I think "entitled" rich parents who's kids are not super-bright, or just badly behaved and badly parented, sometimes want a diagnosis of "somewhere on the autism spectrum" to get themselves off the hook. A truly autistic child is one thing, but I wonder if private medicine can buy a vague diagnosis.
Nobody is really "normal" you will always find something if you search hard enough.

My 6 month old brother passed from SIDS. Anti-vaxxers took his picture from my moms Facebook and used it for their anti vaccine propaganda saying he died from his 6 month vaccines. These people are ridiculous and twisted.
I'm so sorry about your brother, and then for people to use his image for their own reasons--I'm very sorry.

Thing is those treatment have wiped out all of your immunity and you have to go through all those vaccines all over again. Had just finished getting the last of them by a few months when it happened the 1st time so that 4 different times all together for anybody that is counting. You would think if things worked the way McCarthy claims you would think I would sure have suffered at least some damage from repeating all those shots that many times! They also gave me and the other kids that were going though the same thing many vaccines that are not normally given to young kids. 5 of us and no autism!
When I was studying to become a nurse practitioner our psych instructor told us to read Star and National Enquirer as that was where our clients got their medical advice. Now it is the internet and babble from folks with little to no education about the subject- just ill-informed opinions. talk to health care professionals about health needs; movie people about movies.
Here's what I don't get. There are groups dedicated to coming into communities and doing "community outreach" to warn parents about the "dangers" of vaccines. It was a group or groups that was able to convince so many Somalis in my city not to vaccinate their kids. (We had that measles outbreak recently, you might have heard of.) So, Jenny M. might have her attention-seeking reasons, but what are these quiet organizations doing this for? Somebody is making money off of it or becoming more powerful because of it. That is the reason behind every nefarious group like that.
Hey, how do I get an "acoustic" child? Does MTV unplugged still exist?
Though I would have to say I doubt that all autistic people are due to people vaccinating. I do wish that the vaccins wouldn't contain so many different things in one dose if they are going to be given at such a young age. I mean at that point who really knows everything that the child is going to be allergic to. Its risky to throw such a melting pot of medications at kids without a few more controlled test to make sure none of the meds are going to cause a bad if not fatal reaction.
This enrages me to a whole other level!! If vaccines DID cause autism, wouldn’t it be better for your child to be alive than dead? Anti-vaxxers endanger the lives of their children. And not only of their own, but of others. Introducing a child who has not been vaccinated into a group can put the entire group at risk. Sure, those vaccinated will have a lower risk, and it may not be so severe, but they can still catch the illness, and they can still spread it. Having everyone vaccinated makes everyone strong. This is why there are measles outbreaks. People are not vaccinated, and then they spread it. Armor is broken. And what of those who cannot be vaccinated, like young babies? Or of people with immunity disorders? They rely on the rest of the herd. They are likely not to be exposed purposely. They are likely protected by someone else, or by themselves. Children who aren’t vaccinated by their parents aren’t protected. They’re exposed. This can go in so many circles.
(A bit of a continuation) My brother had chicken pox when he was young. When I imagine chicken pox, I imagine it as a relatively mild illness. Then again, this is so for vaccinated victims. Without a vaccine, my brother could have died. Simple as that. Boom. Pow. But lo and behold, he’s here today, because guess what: he got his f*****g vaccine.

Who are the parents going to blame when their child gets sick from one of these diseses?
Fortunately child size coffins come in Frog Green and Fire Engine Red,so thats fun for the kid?
One of my hobbies is Victorian history. In those days it was not uncommon for families to lose several children in a week to cholera or typhoid or smallpox. Gee, I wonder what happened to those infectious diseases?
McCarthy's hair color has nothing to do with who she is. In response to someone calling her a "blonde fartsack". Hair color is just hair color. It has nothing to do with who a person is.
Blu is right. Being blonde doesn't make her dumb. Her view on vaccines does, but not her hair color.
Load More Replies...So it's the science why people think vaccines are safe? Well here's some facts to consider. One more thing if your having problems reading this you are biased and working on preconceived ideas you've accumulated over the years not "science".. Momma told me this was a good idea. The "doctors" know best sweetie pie. lol.. Vaccine companies make billions of dollars a year producing vaccines. There is no evidence that vaccines actually work. The study s done on vaccines are done by the vaccine company's. There have been many cases were disease break outs have happened in places were the majority had been vaccinated for that very disease. There are country's who do not vaccinate and have improved there sanitation issues and have had decreased disease issues at the same time. The highest rates of unvaccinated people are among the rich and informed. Vaccines are not natural. They are chemical concoctions made in a lab. Vaccine companies are protected by law against law suits from individuals

Omg ... this again. Bored Panda is supposed to be funny and entertaining. Every time I've opened the app lately there is a post about vaccines. Seriously annoying and boring . You're not changing anyone's mind by arguing over the Internet . Stay in your lane BP
Vaccine companies are protected by law against law suits from individuals
mercury is poison for your body if you didn't know yet....http://www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/attacking-ourselves-top-doctors-reveal-vaccines-turn-our-immune-system-against-us
The OLD rubella vaccine did make people feel rough for a day or two after they got it. They weren't "sick", they symptoms happened because their bodies were working to develop an immunity to the virus.
Load More Replies...No. Not until every parent has enough sense to vaccinate their babies.
Load More Replies...People committing child abuse IS crappy. Did someone hogtie you to your desk and force you to click on the post? Were you threatened with repeated beatings with a pillow if you didn't read this? So why are you complaining?
Load More Replies...And lots of people question. Hundreds and thousands of people question. They're called doctors and scientists and that's their jobs.
Load More Replies...Hey, EX-Dr Wakefield, get off this post! Your research has been officially discredited and you were booted out of the medical community. We don't want you.
