This Person Shows How Flawed Anti-Vaxxer Logic Is By Using It In A Post About Choking On Food
If you can’t beat em’ join em. Anti-vaxxers come up with some pretty ridiculous arguments on the internet so instead of arguing one internet user decided to write a post on their own unpopular view – that food is dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. For many anti-vaxxers, their talking points include examples of times people developed other serious conditions as a result of vaccines, so this poster decided to use the same tactic in their analogy.

She started by telling her own story as an anti-vaccination analogy example “I once almost choked to death while eating food” and telling other parents it had caused her to make a very serious decision – “I don’t feed my kids.” The author continued to point out that every parent should be able to decide what to do with their kids but, “I’m just saying, do your own research and decide what you think is best for your kids” and that “If you choose to give your kids potentially deadly food, that’s your problem.”

While many found the post a hilarious vaccination analogy, there is always some truth in comedy. According to Injury Facts 2017 choking is the fourth leading cause of unintentional injury death. Of the 5,051 people who died from choking in 2015, 2,848 were older than 74. “Food is often responsible for choking incidents in the elderly. Living alone, and having dentures or difficulty swallowing can increase risk. If you see someone clutching their throat, coughing, gagging, wheezing or passed out.”
People in the comments shared their own takes on food hazards, pointing out the fact that her argument held that indeed food was more dangerous
Vaccines cause autism, I'm sure of it. Once Bigfoot and I finished our Kennedy investigation, and fake moon landing cover up; Elvis took me to the edge of the flat earth and told me that vaccines cause autism.
Aliens visited my house, flew me out of the flat earth and told me "Vaccines are useless junk that kill. We ask fellow aliens on Bored Globflorp for advice against preventable epidemics because vaccines are doodoo".
Load More Replies...I've said it before, in the comment section of another article about anti-vaxxers, so I apologise for repeating myself. I have autism and I was vaccinated as a child. I was also vaccinated as an adult, as it was a necessary requirement in order to do my job as a biomedical scientist. When I read stories of parents not vaccinating their children because they think it causes autism, it's incredibly hurtful. They're essentially saying, they'd prefer it if their child died from a completely archaic and avoidable disease, than have autism. I know which option my mother preferred; her child being alive and autistic, instead of being dead. Also, my immune system is shocking as I have a bunch of other health problems, including kidney disease. I'm curious to know how a parent would explain to my parents, how their unvaccinated child was a catalyst for my totally avoidable demise. That's a genuine question and if somebody is able to answer it, I'd be truly grateful.
My son has ASD. And although he is high functioning, he struggles everyday with emotional and sensory issues. Did he get this condition from a vaccine? I really DGAF. I would rather have him alive and autistic then dead from a disease that took several other people out in it's wake. That being said..I seriously don't believe vaccines are the cause more than I believe that it's genetic. And the reason I believe this is because dozens of studies have not only identified the genes, but Canadian medical groups are now using those genes to identify autism in children as early as 6 weeks old. Anti-vaxxers need to pull there heads out of their collective a$$e$ and stop listening to celebrities that have no medical training of any kind...

Let's see, having mercury sealed in a glass tube thermometer is BAD because it is a heavy metal and might (somehow, completely unexplained, must be some sort of magic) harm my kid so I have to wrap it in two inches of paper and give it (without any refund) to a HAZARDIOUS MATERIAL facility. However actually INJECTING both mercury and aluminum into my kid is just fine. What flavor Kool-aid are the blind follower vaxers drinking this week?
First of al, the scientists who develop vaccines know what they are doing and they know everything they need to know about dosages, because that's what they studied for and before they do anything, they do a lot of research. So no way that they would put any harmful dosages in the vaccines. On the contrary, you probably don't know what kind of dosage of aluminium for example will be harmful. So if you would inject your kid with aluminium, of course it would develop aluminium poisening. Vaccines that contain aluminium, also contain less than the amount aluminium you get in your daily food and drinks. And about the mercury: vaccines don't contain that anymore, even though the dosage of the mercury wasn't even harmful. And the amount in the thermometers you're talking about is way higher than in vaccines, so that amount indeed is harmful. And by the way, I'm just wondering, did you get vaccinated when you were a kid?

Im not here to say whether I chose to vaccinate or not. I am confident enough with my parenting choices that I dont need to justify my choices to others. I wont and cannot bash a parent for vaccinating their child and I cannot basha parent if they choose not to. That is their child therefore their decision and not mine.
No. Do you know why? There are tons of disorders and diseases that damage the immune system. Let’s say you don’t vaccinate your kid, okay. Your kid catches measles but remember how large the inoculation period is, in this span of time your kid could go to school and infect kids with bad immune systems or egg allergies. Allergy kids might die but the immune deficiency kid has a extremely high chance to die from that. Did that kid have a choice, did the parents have a choice, no they didn’t. If that kid dies it’s because you willingly put them at risk knowing the consequences of your actions. You choose to be the catalyst for the child’s death, the parents didn’t and just lost their child to a preventable disease. If you remove other people’s choices than that is not okay

If you keep pretending there isn't cruelty to animals in vaccine manufacture, you will never get everyone on board.
I don't deny that animals are used to test the vaccines on. But how will a vaccine (or medicine) be tested otherwise? You can't inject people with anything that hasn't been tested, because you won't know how their bodies are going to react. And for that reason, it's a better idea to risk the lives of a couple of mouses than the lives of humans. But if you know another way to safely test vaccines and medicines, please tell me.

Diseases were killing more babies in the USA before the vaccine stepped in to prevent babies from getting the diseases
