This Brutal Anti-PETA Rant Is Going Viral, And People Are Shocked To Learn About Their Hypocrisy

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organization in the world, but not everyone thinks they’re very righteous. For example, Calum Mcswiggan claims people shouldn’t donate money to them at all. Considering that PETA is funded almost exclusively by member contributions (according to their official 2017 financial statement, contributions amassed to roughly 96% of their $48,5M revenue), it’s basically saying that the organization should cease to exist. Someone, however, fully agree with Calum’s savage roast and have continued his line of thought, offering more examples why no one should give the animal welfare organization money. As their intense PETA protest went viral, people were shocked by most of the claims. Scroll down to read the text and let us know what you think about it in the comment section.

Animal welfare, working with animals and zoology in general has been my life now for close to four decades. And as someone who genuinely cares for, campaigns on behalf of and studies animals, PETA is the most hateful and confused organisation in the industry. Anyone who thinks PETA are interested in the welfare of animals are mistaken; it's nothing but a promotional and publiclity tool. If you really want to help secure the welfare of animals, then lobby your local MP, volunteer once a week at a shelter, buy free-range where at all possible.

according to peta "animals are people too" but they kill thousands of cats and dogs each year. cats and dogs that many of them think are equal or equivalent to people. i think they have just scraped the surface of the evil they are willing to take part in.

I know this is unpleasant and a bummer, especially for an entertainment site, but I wish everybody was fully aware of the absurdity and criminal nature of PETA. When I was young, I wanted to join them because I thought they stood for actually protecting animals, but they don't. They're just horrible.

As a vegan who is also involved in cat rescue and TNR of feral cats I can't stand them. Most large scale so called animal welfare organisations are more interested in fundraising and number crunching than saving animals. PETA's policy re feral cats is they should all be killed. If you want to give money to help animals donate to a locally run small scale rescue where the volunteers give their own time, money and hearts.

I have a great idea for PETA: RETURN PETA TO THEIR NATURAL STATE. Y'know. Naked, weaponless, no technology, no health care, none of that imposed unnatural stuff.... Humans do *great* that way! It's in their best interests! (Note: sarcasm. Note: I loathe PETA. They need to do as they preach --- live like our wild ancestors! --- and see how well that works out for them.)

Funny that you hit on "no health care"...the head of PETA is a diabetic who takes insulin. Insulin is tested on animals for safety. She doesn't seem to care about THAT. (I'm a diabetic who takes insulin. I'm also severely allergic to most insulin, and have to take 3 different antihistamines to not react. Health care is serious business.)

PeTA is just a glorified terrorist organization that does exactly what they tell everyone not to do. They not only hurt the animals they're "protecting", but they hurt people too by shaming them, scaring them and sometimes even beating people over a little food!

Umm PETA you do know that when humans want to remove hair they cut it off using scissors or clippers. Guess how they remove sheeps wool? Go on, PETA, you’ll never guess... that’s right scissors or clippers! Genius aye. Why the heck do u have a global campaign showing a plastic sheep covered in strawberry jam pretending it’s a real one that’s been skinned alive? To be a Farmer you need to love your job and love working with animals. To skin an animal alive you need to be the worst kind of psychopath. We wouldn’t let isis perpetrate propaganda and blatent lies like this.

Electric razors. Wounds from cutting into the flesh are quite common as the sheep are mostly sheared in piecework and you have to be as fast as possible. Needless to say they all suffer from fear, as they are kept in masses and almost never get into physical contact with humans, they don't know what's going on and they are extremely stressed.

I'm honestly surprised that anyone still thinks they're a bunch of good people and not the horde of evil and heartless, money-grubbing monsters they are. I had to explain to my parents AGAIN why Peta is horrible and evil. I don't know how they manage to uphold their squeaky-clean public image-- oh, wait, I do. They use the money meant for actually protecting and caring for animals, and use it for b******t advertising campaigns, lawyers and paying people off. Sick.

The unvarnished truth is that PETA does not believe in people having domestic pets although they try to hide this. For instance, they believe that dogs should go back to being wild like the wolves from whom they descended. There have also been cases where they planted feces, etc. to make it look like the owner was abusive so they could take their pets. To anyone who believes in PETA, I've got some swampland that I would love to sell to you.

A few years ago PETA petitioned Saratoga County to re-name....wait for it...a small river!!! The name is the "SkyKuehl River" (lots of ways to spell it) PETA objected to the IMPLIED word "kuehl" or "kill" which I understand is old Danish for river.

Being danish i had to look into it. Couldn't find anything danish about it, but maybe it originates from the german Kühl - that translates into cold. However kühl may originate from the danish kold or kølig. Cold originates from the danish kold tho. Ohh those vikings made a lasting impression on the english vocabulary :)

Support SPCA or ASPCA or any animal shelter! SPCA cares about the animals and only euthanises if the animal is to sick to live AND they have an outside opinion from a vet. If the animal stayed in their care for a long time before having to be euthanised, (which is a very small chance because they take good care of the animals) they have a little memorial out the back (well, at least the one I go to has) and some of them have “mascot animals” which are like a pet that the whole place owns.

I'd say support your LOCAL shelter. When you send donation to the ASPCA organization, not much trickles down to the local shelters. My Shadow is a shelter dog...she's a purebred poodle. Breed-specific shelters are out there and do a lot of good, too.

PETA and most other charities - they work in the same way - gather as much money as possible - waste 50% of donation on multi-million salaries (Ceo's etc.) and advertise as much as possible to get more donors. True case not really matters - you can shout about animals rights, cancer UK research, McMillian helping those with cancers or others - same stuff - redistribute other money for personal benefits...

I hope that Bored Panda would do more articles also other eco-terrorist organizations like Greenpeace. Greenpeace spreads plenty of unscientific propaganda for example against nuclear energy and GMO and too many poorly educated people believe in them. Nuclear energy, if it plants are built in the places where is not risk of huge natural disasters, is very envinronmentally friendly way to get electricity. GMO is also very safe and healthy way to produce food and it can also help many countries where farming has lots of problems and people don't have enough food because of that. GMO crops need less water and pesticides to survive and those can be also modified to be more healthy than the normal plants, like the famous 'golden rice'.

I think they took it way too far a long time ago. Those magazines they handed out to kids were just horrible. The term "euthenize" is just horrible, because it sounds like "youth", which is associated with good things. I agree that people and animals are equal though. We do need different dietary things, like Jumanji the Fox, or else they will suffer malnutrition. Protect animals! Stand against PETA! (By the way, that stands for People Eating Tasty Animals).

The rescue sites are usually best. One of my favorites is The Last Post (and another like it whose name I can't remember.) The Last Post takes cats whose owners die; I believe you have to make arrangements beforehand, and they do prefer if the cat comes with a legacy. But they keep the pet until its natural death. They have a beautiful house that belongs to the cats. The other place is a homeless shelter for cats. They've been featured on (I think) Animal Planet (Or Nat'l Geo Wild, I can't remember) and have 800 cats at the moment. Both are no-kill (obviously.) There's several dog sanctuaries--one takes 'vicious' dogs to keep them from being killed. I haven't seen anything on that for quite a while, but I'm sure an internet search would find it.

They are being super-hypocritical. No wearing of animal products. Ha! For every pleather-wearing PETA freakoid, think: most plastics start out as petroleum-based chemicals. Where does petroleum come from? Being a FOSSIL-fuel, it comes from degraded animals and plants from eons ago. So unless you have a way to separate out fossil fuel that comes from animals (carbon-based) and that which comes from plants (also carbon-based), you have a dilemma. Most likely you are wearing a dead-animal product. Get over yourselves!

well actually by law in certain areas of the USA it is illegal to leave pets in cars on hot days and if someone doesn't show up in something like 30 minutes a random citizen is legally allowed to break a window and remove the animal if possible. it has to do with animal rights as well.

These @$#@$#@#@$#@ are so @#@#$ Couldn’t we just build more animal shelters rather than euthanize dogs and cats? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A shelter should be a temporary compromise for dogs and cats. It is not a solution to companion animal homelessness. Dogs and cats need more than food, water, and shelter from the elements. They need and deserve loving care, regular human companionship, respect for their individuality, and the opportunity to play and run. As difficult as it may be for us to accept, euthanasia (carried out by veterinarians or shelter staff trained in intravenous injection of sodium pentobarbital) is often the most compassionate and dignified way for unwanted animals to leave this uncaring world.

Just visited their home page, ANNNNNNNNND GUES WHAT WAS AT THE TOP?! PETA: Bigotry begins when categories such as race, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or species are used to justify discrimination. End Speciesism! (Along with a picture of a sad dog) What in the sweet hell are these people thinking.

To all of the PETA workers who did anything HORRIBLE to animals... PLEASE DIE and to all the animals that were hurt by PETA... rest in peace sweet babies you did not deserve that :( GUYS DON'T SUPPORT CRULTEY IM SERIOUS or maybe you can adopt a senior, you may have less time with it but you made its last few years happy I apologise for my language

What a load of s**t. I can see someone has been drinking the Nathan Winograd kool aid. And people will buy into it because there are minor hints of truth taken out of context and twisted into a monster. I would suggest people fact check with snopes and some other sites before trusting this propaganda hit piece. Btw, Nathan Winograd has helped some cities to go no-kill for all shelters... sure, they are beyond capacity, animals are dying of disease, dangerous animals are being adopted out, and bites are up substantially, And if people knew that their "shelter" is not actually a shelter and that they provide free euthanasia services for the Hampton Rhodes area for people who have sick, dying and severely injured animals, then they might realize why their kill numbers are so high. They also take in animals that none of the other shelters will take in because they are not adoptable. So, while he will toute all these other shelters, what people don't know is that they refuse animals.

I own a pit bull and seeing all those dead pit bulls (a lot of them very similar in appearance to my own) was heart breaking. I wish everyone would recognise that Peta IS a terrorist group and they need to be stopped. I'm scared of my own pets being stolen and murdered by this group and we shouldn't have to live in that our furry family members are going to be taken hostage and tortured to death by terrorists. I wish our government would doing something about them to protect the citizens (animals and humans) of our country.

Not to mention, a few years ago in southern California, there was a massive wildfire. The Helen Woodward Animal Shelter was at risk for burning down. They asked PETA for help with relocating their animals and PETA said there was nothing they could do...so SeaWorld San Diego took them in. Ironic.

I am so done with PETA, I've had nightmares of them trying to free my horse (s). And i've been banned from Animal rights groups, because i wouldn't change. But PETA needs to go extinct to be honest, they are doing more harm them good, and ruining it for those who love and actually want to help animals. I"m all for animal welfare but PETA I'm not in favor of. Support animal shelters who actually help animals not PETA, they are already winning victories and getting laws in place to get rid of people's animals, that are their livelihood.

The animal rights organisation posted a huge billboard (advertising board) in the city, persuading people to see each crab as an individual with a personality and go vegan. The scientific name for the species, Callinectes sapidus, means the blue crab, Atlantic blue crab, is a species of crab native to the waters of the western Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, and introduced internationally.Another meanings of Callinectes sapidus is,‘savory beautiful swimmers’ in English, which pretty much sums up just how long we have been craving (strong desire) the sweet meat of these abundant creatures. Did PETA really think advertising would make any difference to the manners of people’s eating habits?Who knows. But it certainly has people talked about it!

PETA would rather see 'freed' animals die of disease and starvation, because they cannot hunt for themselves, have no resistance to wild diseases, and are totally unsuited to being in the wild, than see humans love and take care of them. I was near a local PETA office to visit another business, and they got a full earful, including the deluded volunteer manning the front desk.

In the 70's they did a lot to publicize the torture of animals being used to test cosmetics and in medical experiments, and may have been instrumental in fostering the movement against animal testing - but lately they have indeed gone psycho. Thank heaven there are so many local and national orgs that are doing such good work to help the helpless.

Don't let your upset over anything Peta does or does not do tarnish your view of animal rights in general. Animals still need protection from exploitation and slaughter. Too often people think Peta is the end-all be-all of animal rights and that simply isn't true. The animals still need us to stop using them and abusing them. Anger at Peta and the messes they've created, doesn't change that. Before throwing out the baby with the bathwater, please take a look at some of the honest and responsible animal advocacy organizations: Mercy for Animals http://www.mercyforanimals.org/ Compassion Over Killing http://cok.net/ In Defense of Animals https://www.idausa.org/about-ida/ Vegan Outreach https://veganoutreach.org/ The animals need our help.

Can't stand PETA. I'm a Canadian & encountered PETA protesting the Calgary Stampede rodeo. The dude that approached me was wearing leather moccasins, so I asked him if it was better to ride the bull or wear it? I went on to inform him that the animals performing in most rodeo events are athletes, just like the people & they are cared for as well as any show animal. Now, some events are dangerous to man & animal & should be banned. But those that involve riding something that will buck you off...gives those animals a longer life cuz without rodeo, every one of them would be on somebody's plate - whether from the grocery meat counter or a dog food can.

PETA - I've hated them since the 70s, when I sent in $5 to help the poor rabbits who were getting tested (PETA was sending out postcards about it). I got on their mailing list & they started sending me their magazine. Previously, my thoughts on PETA were, basically, that if Paul & Linda McCartney endorsed them they are fine. Well - that magazine! Lots of borderline fanatical c**p in it, but what finally killed it for me was the article advocating feeding my CATS a vegetarian diet! That will KILL felines! I wrote a letter, they responded in condescending fashion, I wrote another and told them I wanted the subscription stopped, they sent another uglier letter & didn't stop sending the magazine - until finally I just 'returned to sender' every time I got something. I've hated them ever since then.

This story made me look up PETA's founder (wikipedia). She saw a dog cruelly killed when she was a child. When she was about 21, she took some lost kittens to a shelter, expecting them to be found a home. They were immediately put down. She went to work there and (so she says) eventually took to going to work early to kill the animals to save them from the abuse of the other employees. Madness. It was a different time, I don't exactly know what I would have done, but there must have been someone else who cared enough to help expose what was going on.

No, it started much earlier. As a teenage punk in the 2000s, I recall going to various activist/pseudo activist presentations and festivals. I remember seeing documentaries about the "dark side" of PETA, and it was a very well suspsicious organisation back then too. At least for the underground scene. Which means these things might have started in the late 1990s as well.

First, you believe PETA, then their opponents, then others ... Based on pictures, news, posts on Facebook. You need to study facts, evidence and have an OWN sentence. And nowadays, when the human race is doing everything to destroy the animal and vegetable world, any action showing it is indicated and needed. You need to think about who has an interest in undermining the credibility of PETA. And that you can do it for money too

PETA is not a traditional animal shelter. They operate one small shelter—a shelter of last resort for animals who need euthanasia to end their suffering (many of whom have been rejected by other facilities), including dogs who are aggressive and unadoptable because they have been kept chained their entire lives; feral cats dying of contagious diseases; animals who are wracked with cancer; elderly animals who have no quality of life and whose desperate guardians brought them to PETA because they can’t afford to pay a vet to euthanize them; and the list goes on. A painless end is a kindness for these animals, and the services PETA provides are vitally needed in an area where many people can’t afford to take their animals to a veterinarian. This video explains more about PETA’s work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG0sh6rpC14

Is this a joke? I don't see a single problem with anything from PETA here. Sure they say some unpopular things, but that's to get the point across. People just react because they don't want it to be true that we treat animals they way we do. Also they are stupid. People. So very stupid. Comparing the holocaust to factory farming is an understatement if anything. Holocaust was horrible, no doubt, but it's nothing compared to what we do to animals. Actually, nothing humans have ever done to other humans comes close. Never will.

You don't see it as a problem for someone to steal someone else's healthy well taken care of animal for no reason? Or to kill dogs just because of their breed, when they claim they want to save animals? If you don't see anything wrong with stealing or killing someone's companion that's your own problem.

A lot of people critize PETA and think that they go around killing animals for fun. To my view those information in the above article do not apply to how it´s presented. -> The "Center for Consumer Freedom", a lobbyist front group for some of the worst industries (e.g. tobacco, alcohol, animal agriculture, junk food, etc) created “PETA Kills Animals” to attempt to discredit People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals since getting people to be humane to animals is devastating to animal agriculture big business. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Center_for_Organizational_Research So, it is imperative to thoroughly acquaint oneself with a topic instead of blindly adopting ANY information, even on Bored Panda. Please get in touch personally with an employee of PETA, talk to them fact-bound, visit them at their work and as a result of this forge an opinion. Otherwise it could be quite obvious to be misled by polemic articles like the obove. The damage done to PETA is enormously.

I respect PETA because they are out there on the front lines helping animals. When Hurricane Irma and Maria hit, PETA was there with supplies on the ground rescuing animals. When shelters turn dying animals away, PETA takes them in and gives them a dignified release from their pain. PETA has, for decades, always stood by animals and worked creatively and collaboratively to improve life for animals and humans. Just look how the fashion world - and even magazines - are shunning fur, and how many people worldwide are going vegan for their health, animals, and the environment.

This is all so misleading. The majority of adoptable animals are never taken through PETA's doors, because PETA refers them to local adoption groups and walk-in animal shelters. PETA is a shelter of last resort--taking in the aged, sick, injured, and dying and offering them a painless release from suffering. If anyone has questions about PETA's vital work, go to PETA.org and read the financial reports and annual reviews. Don't just believe lies spewed by haters.

PETA is an important and strong organization. PETA has led the vegan movement to its current peak, they have saved animals by shutting down dog blood banks and lobbying for fashion companies to go fur-free. PETA even flew to Puerto Rico when the hurricane hit this past fall to help care for the hundreds of animals who suddenly were homeless, hungry and alone. I respect PETA’s dedication and how far they've, singlehandedly, brought the animal rights movement.

Go on, PETA, you’ll never guess... that’s right scissors or clippers! Genius aye. Why the heck do u have a global campaign showing a plastic sheep covered in strawberry jam pretending it’s a real one that’s been skinned alive? Electric razors. Wounds from cutting into the flesh are quite common as the sheep are mostly sheared in piecework and you have to be as fast as possible. Needless to say they all suffer from fear, as they are kept in masses and almost never get into physical contact with humans, they don't know what's going on and they are extremely stressed.

I plastered pictures all over my Facebook of a PETA warning this summer basically sayin that if You see an animal in a car (even if it's running and the animal looks fine) to break the persons window and take their animal because they don't deserve to have pets if they leave them in the car. I was so passed sbout this because if the animal was in absolutely no danger hat right do they have to destroy property and steal peoples animals???

well actually by law in certain areas of the USA it is illegal to leave pets in cars on hot days and if someone doesn't show up in something like 30 minutes a random citizen is legally allowed to break a window and remove the animal if possible. it has to do with animal rights as well.

Nathan Winograd has some hard but important information about them. I’ve known they’re bad but not how bad. Ingrid Newkirk, apparent founder- who comes up with that‽ might suffer some day. By her logic she should be (self) euthanized.

Jimmy Fallon released a sketch this week about Dr.Evil being fired from the White House alongside others from Trump administration. Now I know he's been having two jobs

So what this is really all about is Bored Panda hates vegans and anyone who works to help animals. But they use 'animals' to get attention and clicks for their blog. Got it, now I understand and now I will block your posts. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't know much about Peta, but this article looks a bit one sided. I read a bit more about them on Wikipedia.

Come on, if they just murder animals...why do they even exist?

Just look how the fashion world - and even magazines - are shunning fur, and how many people worldwide are going vegan for their health, animals, and the environment.

they arent helping anyone except their agenda. they actively kill animals because they think its more humane. its not dignified to enforce animal genocide as COMPANY POLICY

I respect PETA’s dedication and how far they've, singlehandedly, brought the animal rights movement.

you cant be blinded by the good they have done just to ignore the out right EVIL they do on a daily basis. slaughtering animals for no good reason other than they can't take care of them. spreading lies slander and false information. what do you think they did with all those pets in Puerto Rico? ill tell you right now, they killed them all. they have a RECORD of euthanizing animals they could easily save.
