According to Dr. Reynolds if you “shift your attention elsewhere” and remove the energy from the fight, you might surprise the person who’s currently making your life a living hell. It’s a different path that’s available to us: instead of making the person go into their defensive mode and stick to their story, now they’re wondering what exactly is going on.

This happens at the disabled crosshatch area (Meant to provide needed room for wheelchairs) every single time I try to park. There are times I’ve actually had to call the store and get somebody to come and move all the carts just so that I could park my vehicle. We’re surrounded by thoughtful people…not
You have to admit though, a lot of those are left by people who park in the disabled spots in the first place. Because, for whatever reason, the nearest cart return to the disabled parking is usually half way across the parking lot.

In my country was the same 30 years ago and after they decide that we have to put a coin of 2.- to “ rent “ it during our shopping, and now guess what, everyone put it back at his place. They did the same with drink glasses at concerts ( 5.- ) and it's same all the glasses go back to the stand and the floor is just durty with all others s**t who dont have a bail on!

Every time I see this s**t, I remember hearing someone summarize the attitude of the people who do it this way: "If you're too big to do the small things, then you're too small to do the big things." Damn straight.
I have some mobility issues and using a cart whether I need one or not helps me get through the store faster. So for me I am grateful that there are some so near where I would park.

It annoys me when people can't return their trolley to the bay. However, when one isn't visibly available I won't return it but will still put it out of the way against a wall or something.
Yeah there are some stores here where the parking lot is huge and the closest cart corral is really far away, which isn’t great if you’re nervous about being attacked or the weather is awful.

When I was a little kid, in the 1950's, my Mother would take me along to the grocery store, and they'd just invented shopping carts. We'd always see a few carts in the parking lot, and Mum told me to bring one in to the store, because, "If it got this far, it's probably a good cart.", and also to clear parking spaces for our neighbours. Ever since, when I get out of the car at Wal-Mart, or Shoppers, or, or, or... I always think of my Mom, and bring in a cart.

So many things that drive me crazy on here. But your lucky to drive, have a car, have friends, have a job, and be alive. Remember that.

The only reason you might feel the need to shame these people is because modern society has normalized disregard for authority, and thereby encourages disregard for the law as well as social mores, or else you simply want to feel good about yourself by pointing out flaws in others. Either way, you are whining rather than doing what is necessary to stop behaviours like this.
It drives my husband batty sometimes, but when I see cups at the mall/carts in the parking lot that are going to hit cars or block spaces/ perishable food on shelves I take a second to fix it. Yes I know some people get paid to do it but those people usually also have 1,000 other duties. IDK, it feels like most people don't care about others and that's the root of most of these. (The rest like the phone screens are just funny but I couldn't live with)
It’s a lot easier to deal with when you accept the fact that a significant number of people are bonafide assholes.
