35 Entitled People Who Thought They Deserved More Than Everybody Else But Got Shamed Instead (New Pics)
We’re all familiar with the saying that beggars can’t be choosers—if you desperately need or want something, then you should be willing to sit down and be humble. How often does that happen, though? Honestly? Not as often as it should. The world’s full of arrogant, privileged choosing beggars who think they’re royalty and throw a fit if someone can’t meet their unfair expectations.
The worst of the worst get shamed on r/ChoosingBeggars, a community of nearly 2.2 million people who call out people who are being way too picky when begging for things. If you’re ever in a situation where you’re unsure if what you’re doing is right or wrong, the ‘Choosing Beggars’ subreddit is your North Star on how not to behave.
Have a look through some of the most popular recent posts about choosing beggars, upvote the ones that infuriated you the most, and let us know if you’ve ever dealt with similar people in your lives, dear Pandas. Many choosing beggars either want huge discounts for products that their hearts are set on or… they want things completely for free or exposure. Calling these people ‘cheap’ would do a disservice to just how impolite and demanding some of them truly are.
Rudeness and a false sense of entitlement are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to choosing beggars. You see, they think they’re special and that the entire world has to dance to their tune because… well… just because!

A representative of the London-based Freelancer Club explained to me in a previous interview about saying ‘no’ to unpaid work. The organization aims to put a stop to exploitative unpaid work and late payments in the freelance sector.
“We are working hard to change the culture around working for exposure, experience, prestige, and the promise of paid work in the future by educating new and aspiring freelancers. We highlight the impact it has on their career, show them how valuable they are, and work on their self-worth,” the representative told Bored Panda earlier. “On the company side, we show them how paying freelancers fairly is better for their bottom line as well as their long-term reputation. In addition, we are pressuring the government to change legislation that will provide more legal protection for freelancers who are clearly being exploited for their talent.”

Funny how parents often cheap out on their babysitters. And by the way: "we want someone who isn't in just for the money!" What in the actual f**k? Those people need to be asked if they would to their job for half the money...
Those people and companies that suggest to others that they should work for exposure instead of for money end up showing everyone how they view others and what they think they’re worth.
“Many see freelancers, particularly in the creative sector, as hobbyists and believe they can get away with ‘paying’ in exposure. They leverage their audience size, their brand name, or the allure of gaining recognition. This is why services in exchange for exposure is commonplace in glamourous sectors such as fashion, music, and film,” the rep from the Freelancer Club said.

“From a freelancer point of view, they are often told that working for exposure is a rite of passage or an essential part of building a portfolio by their teachers, college professors, and peers. This has created a culture of exploitation that we must address at both ends. At Freelancer Club, we take a hardline and suggest freelancers say ‘no.’ The issue is that some ‘freelancers’ are individuals with a passion who will freely give their work away for exposure whilst professionals rely on payment to survive. This muddies the water.”
How Are My Kids Supposed To Live Without Juice?!
this is great! this food bank probably made many families' Christmas! f*** that lady though she's a jerk
I'm sorry, I can't understand why they didn't take your requirements list when packing your food. Did you call ahead, email your list, fax it in, or text them?
Load More Replies...I see oranges, apples and carrots, squeeze them for juice you ungrateful cow
But she'd need to work herself for that, you can't demand that. /s. F*cking entitled b*tch.
Load More Replies...It's a food bank, not a drink bank. I see the other problem.
Load More Replies...They do not. This attitude is disgusting. I shelled out over $60 last year for groceries for our Christmas meals...she gets hers for FREE...and has the nerve not only to complain...but make a POST complaining! UGH, I am so disgusted. We have made several donations to our local food bank...just praying most recipients are not like this "lady".
Load More Replies...This person is NOT "forever grateful" she is extremely UNgrateful. Obviously never been really hungry like I was at the age of 8 when Christmas dinner was a digestive biscuit which I insisted on sharing with my mother who had nothing else. I think her kids will enjoy all that food even without juice.
Maybe request for birth control than some juice, hillbilly. Problem solved.
Why you have to dis on us hillbilly folk? I see orange juice there. In its natural form.
Load More Replies...Wow. This is actually very repulsive. There are families in the world that would love that much food being given to them.
This asshat says they are "Forever Grateful"...I dont think those words mean what they think they mean.
Seriously? Complaining about "how little" food you got for free? If you can complain about the lack of juice and butter, you're clearly not starving. There are a lot of families who could have used this food much better.
So she gets a free turkey, fresh fruits and vegetables, sides, and even some cookies and chocolate for dessert and still wants to bitch? At least $35-40 worth of food, no charge. Where did all the money go? Does she imagine she is the only person calling upon the food bank resources. I feel for her kids, who are being taught to be greedy and ungrateful, and that water - which is what I grew up drinking with meals, even Thanksgiving - is an insufficient beverage to wash down all the food they should be giving thanks for. Sheesh.
The audacity of this post is mind boggling. Many people would be ecstatic for just 2 of those items.
Food banks are largely dependent on what people want to donate. If you work there, you'll see 100 cans of green beans show up every day but not one pork chop. For major holidays, they often have people working for months trying to wrangle those holiday foods for holiday week. My aunt and uncle volunteered at a food bank every week and her "job" was making deals with local businesses. She had a deal with a grocery chain that the food bank would accept anything the stores sent after any holiday if they donated 200 hams at Christmas and Easter. The Thursday after any holiday a delivery truck from the chain would show up with a pallet of stale Halloween candy, Valentines cards, or 500 mini-American flags. She'd sign off on the invoice and the chain would claim full retail value. 40% of it would go out as food, 20% as "surprise sparklers" and 40% straight to trash. No one wants 500 paper skeletons after Veteran's Day.
My family had some very lean times when I was a kid. If this box showed up on our doorstep, it would have felt like a miracle. Obviously this person has never experienced real, true hunger.
A prime example of someone that is taking advantage of a food bank!! As a person that has needed help before I would of been grateful for that amount of food.
Food banks are a supplement- they are not supposed to feed your entire household for all meals all month. So you some stuff from the food bank so you have money or food stamps left over to get the other stuff
Omg this is so much better than what we normally have. Like that is a LOT of food.
You can do a lot a lot of really, really tasty things with the ingredients in the description. It is an awesome meal comming! And if the reciever feel a bit empty-headed when it's time to cook (as we all can be sometimes), just search for recepies on google and youtube.
Why isn't there a bottle of vodka and a whole turkey in the food pack? Boo hooo TnT
Eat the Apples and Oranges. Here's a tip and the kiddos will enjoy this or at least we always did. Have the kids roll the Orange around while applying pressure, then cut a hole in the end where it was attached to the tree and tell them to drink the juice as they squeeze the orange, then eat the pulp. P. S. No one will die without juice or butter. P.S.S. You have received one heck of a great meal.
This person is probably struggling with not having control, for example, over what particular foods can be provided. It must be a horrible feeling not to be able to feed your kids.
Still, behaving so ungratefully when the staff may be able to see it is very unkind of her. And if she's obsessed with her kids having juice, I'm guessing this is her first go-round with a food bank.
Load More Replies...Her kids probably were in need, but I bet it was mom's fault. I've run into people like her - lived with them even. Their needs come first, their kids' a distant second.
Load More Replies...She got a whole bag of oranges! There's the juice. Just squeeze them. I feel sorry for her kids, their mom is an asshole.
When I was much much younger the group I was employed with did Christmas baskets for FREE. Our 1st ( and biggest mistake) was to allow a request for a particular size turkey based on size of your family(based on availability of course) Since I was newest guy I got to answer the phones on Xmas eve after deliveries were complete. So I answered 1st phone called and ..in spirit of season...got called every filthy name I could think of and some I hadn't heard!!!When I got a chance to speak I discovere that this "poor " lady had only gotten 17lb bird when she ASKED FOR 18 POUNDER!!!I was not impolite but I did turn off phones and go home..last year I volunteered
butter is need to be kept in cold, be glad they at least stored that turkey, because food banks don't collecting those kind of foods very often, because of the needs of fridges... I guess the turkeys are provided extra just for thanksgiving day... The foodbanks is here not to give you all food for free, but provide you the most important foods, be glad for cookies and chocolate... woh much costs a 2litres of juice in store in US? Let me see... If my currency is 1 dollar something about 20,- Czk , and one liter of cheap juice is exactly this amount it should be bought for about 2 dollars... Butter is about the same price here, so it should be similiar price... go and buy it! You got a lot of food, so you can afford this little to spent.
I've been to a good bank in my area that have out cases of coffee creamer. Try making a meal from that
A bag of oranges can turn into juice for the kids. But it's better nutritionally-wise to eat the oranges, and drink water with the meal.
If only they could take everything back and just give her juice. . .!
what an ungrateful s**t. if you're that pressed about what you get in FREE F*****G FOOD - go buy your own damn food with your own damn money.
Doesn't change anything, and the person is still a real jerk, but why is everyone assuming that they're female?
Food banks never give out dairy products. I never got milk or butter..
I actually have to stop reading these posts .WTF is wrong with these people !!!
how are you going to eat from the food bank but still complain?????
Maybe because juice is not part of traditional christmas dinner, and hence no one thought of including it. I wander if he/she even knows where juice comes from. She got oranges and apples, if only she would invest a minimal bit of time and mash those he/she should could get both apple and orange juice in a few minutes.
Last time (1995) I was receiving help from a food bank, they didn't have free wi-fi. I never went there again. (I also didn't have a smart phone 🤣)
I'm more offended by the vitriol in these comments. Poor people are allowed to have feelings. Individuals can be both grateful and disappointed at the same time. Beggars can be choosers. What is even more vile is the exponential growth in wealth inequality. There is no reason *anyone* should hungry or undomiciled. If the 0.1% paid living wages and paid fair share of taxes this would not be an issue. Ok, bring on the down votes and nasty comments because y'all just got so much hate and feel the need to justify it.
That is a great food hamper! I mean a loaf of bread, and packaged stuffing! You give a loaf of bread you don't even need to give the stuffing because they could make their own. And all that fruit! I think they should take it back from that person and give it to someone more grateful.
I think that is a nice looking bunch of food. When I was 10 my dad had another breakdown and while it was nice of people to donate food it was usually stuff they didn't want. Canned asparagus, cream of celery soup, powdered milk...when I donate to food drives I do crunchy JIF and Progresso soups!
Give person a fish and they'll complain about not getting juice. Classic.
How completely fkn selfish. I’m sure there would be a hell of a lot of people grateful for even less than this. Are her kids too spoiled that they can’t or won’t drink water. Some people just piss me off with their sense of entitlement
she gets turkey and potatoes and all she cares about is juice???
Look at all the hate flowing in the comments here!! My goodness, is this hate coming from all those who claim they are against hate? This is exactly why the internet s**ks. So a woman had a meltdown about what she got from the food pantry. Did any of you hypocrites think for ONE second that she is entitled to have a bad day, that maybe this was her first time having to rely on a food bank for a holiday meal, that the stress in her life has been too much so this was the last straw? ALL YOU PEOPLE THINK YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO JUDGE OTHERS BASED ON SOME IDIOTIC POST. GET A REAL LIFE
Do you only come to this website to vent your temper? It's all I have seen you do on any posts on BP to date.
Load More Replies...Wow all these people provided you and so many others with shït so everyone can be happy for once and you can’t even be grateful? I’m stunned! Oh my AND you proceeded to name all the things you got? Oh wow that’s that’s- Ok, Karen/ken, I see you ignored my “be grateful you got a crumb TED talk” Shame.
WOW!!! You are lucky you got anything and should never get anything ever again. Get off your lazy entitled *ss and work for what you want or STFKUP #karen
Where are the lobster Thermidor snacks for my kids? What is this, Russia?
She acts like she's the only one being helped!! That's a great haul! A church I attended back in the day AND volunteered in the kids' nursery once gave me canned tuna with no mayo or bread. Hamburger Helper without the rest of the ingredients.
Wow. What makes you so entitled? Or deserving more then next person? If I had the power I would ban people like you from the food banks. You’re a disgrace and only reinforce the belief that all people needing food are unappreciative.
I live in the sf and our food banks for Christmas dinner we get only chicken not even a turkey this person should be thankful she gets anything at all not complaining about what she doesn't get. The way I see it is if she wants juice that bad go out and pay for it herself.
Make a damn soup and enjoy it. (Unless you want them to come and make it for you...then...NO)
That'swhy it's better to give money, so this family can buy the food they love.
Hmmm. The main fixings for Christmas dinner (cook it yourself though) and treats. What else could you ask for? Oh, you CAN ask for more........
She sounds like the sort of person that goes to the food bank because he unemployment goes on paying for a brand new iphone
This doesn't seem legit. I don't know anyone who would list all their blessings to complain about where they believe to be slighted. If you feel wronged, you focus on that. I think this is someone trying to disparage folks who actually need food from the food pantry.
A friend of mine gets food parcels, the last one she got she moaned about everything in it.
Load More Replies...She's got children, who are probably the reason she qualified for the list. No need to punish them just because their mother is an ungrateful sow.

Sometimes I'll call someone to give me a bid on some work (remodeling, landscaping, etc) , and it turns out to be like 4x more expensive than I expected, and there's no way I can afford it. And I actually feel BAD, and sort of embarrassed, for wasting their time. I'm really confused by people who think they have the right to be rude and insulting when someone charges more than they want to pay.
I mean, there’s a middle ground to be had here. Obviously you should be polite when you find out something costs more than you can afford, but self-recrimination over something like that isn’t necessary in order to be a decent person.
Load More Replies...my nephew invited me to his wedding (nice), but they scheduled it to be on the beach in Jamaica (too expensive for me).... They must have not been able to find a local hometown church or hall to hire, so now everyone is expected to fly to the Caribbean and spend two grand each (or more) to give them a fitting celebration & send-off. Hmm.... I replied back that my situation at that time couldn't afford this sort of a luxury, but I would like to come to the reception planned back home after their two week honeymoon in Jamaica was over. No invitation to the reception back home was forthcoming, since he was mad that his uncle would not give him this sort of ego fulfillment ... fine, no wedding present was forthcoming from me, I am usually quite generous. He has had nothing to do with me since then. He must not be able to forgive, forget, & move on, even though I did not do anything wrong. Grudges are poison.
I think, it should have been on their dime. Not yours.
Load More Replies...the dept. chair at the local jr. college recruited me several times to come to work for him part-time. I said to let me know when a full-time staff position opens up. I told him I did not have the stamina to work a part-time job at night on top of the full-time job I already held. He said it was dept. policy that you have to work part-time (unbenefitted position) to invest enough "dues" to be allowed to bid on a full-time job. I know one guy they worked for seven years as a part-timer before they took him on staff. They gave him a very irregular day & night schedule, not just night classes, so he could not hold a benefitted full-time day job at the same time. So I walked out, nope, don't want to play that way. I understand it has become common in higher education to play this game. They could easily consolidate two part-time teaching positions into one full-time position, but they don't want to pay anything towards benefits and retirement for the teachers. Talk about exploitation! Sometimes educators with doctoral degrees are supposed to hang on like this for years as part-timers in hopes that someone will finally resign, retire, or die. Even then, there is no guarantee that they will get the full-time tenure-track job they have been waiting for.
