35 Entitled People Who Thought They Deserved More Than Everybody Else But Got Shamed Instead (New Pics)
We’re all familiar with the saying that beggars can’t be choosers—if you desperately need or want something, then you should be willing to sit down and be humble. How often does that happen, though? Honestly? Not as often as it should. The world’s full of arrogant, privileged choosing beggars who think they’re royalty and throw a fit if someone can’t meet their unfair expectations.
The worst of the worst get shamed on r/ChoosingBeggars, a community of nearly 2.2 million people who call out people who are being way too picky when begging for things. If you’re ever in a situation where you’re unsure if what you’re doing is right or wrong, the ‘Choosing Beggars’ subreddit is your North Star on how not to behave.
Have a look through some of the most popular recent posts about choosing beggars, upvote the ones that infuriated you the most, and let us know if you’ve ever dealt with similar people in your lives, dear Pandas. Got the patience to stomach some more pretentious and privileged individuals? Check out Bored Panda’s most recent posts about r/ChoosingBeggars right here, here, and here.

Many choosing beggars either want huge discounts for products that their hearts are set on or… they want things completely for free or exposure. Calling these people ‘cheap’ would do a disservice to just how impolite and demanding some of them truly are.
Rudeness and a false sense of entitlement are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to choosing beggars. You see, they think they’re special and that the entire world has to dance to their tune because… well… just because!

Same here in Belgium. I offered many things online for free since we didnt need them (like our older hamster cage) or an office chair. I got so many idiots demanding that I drive to the other side of the country to deliver it. For a f*****g thing that I am giving away for free! I hate people.
This is what pissed me off. I was giving a kitten away and they are like can you deliver it.
If they can't even come and get the kitty, they don't deserve it.
Load More Replies...Here’s what you do - list it on Craigslist, leave it on the porch, first come first served, take the ad down once it’s gone.
I've lived in a couple of places where you don't even need to place an ad. Put the free stuff out front by the curb and it'll disappear so fast! Some ppl will go around the night before trash pick-up and take stuff. Saves the hassle of putting up and taking down an ad and dealing with these idiots. Lol!

OMG, why did not think of it 🤦🏻♀️!!! Revenge of an annoyed seller.

People have taken the asshole attitude provided by the anonymity of the internet into every aspect of their lives. There are exactly three people in this world that I care about.
I get the statement they’re trying to make, but noo not the dumpster! Find a place you can recycle and drop off old electronics, much of it can be collected and turned into new materials
Another incident (this is a continuation of the below post) my gardening crew brought me about 2 tons of trees they had cut down and I said just put it in the back lot and I'll advertise it for free firewood. I said I do NOT have a pickup so I cannot deliver. Anyway this is FREE. I shot several pictures to show they are not cut up (I would not do that for free anyway) and they branches and trunks from 1 to 3 feet across so bring help and a pickup or trailer. Same thing as below. One guy said he would come get some for his fireplace and I said sure come on down. He showed up and was pissed because it had not all been cut up in small firewood sized pieces. I said did you not see the pictures and read the ad? Another guy said he would take it if I PAID HIM to remove it all. Another woman also was ticked off it had not been already all cut up. I said did you look at the pictures? I did help her pick out some small branches and whatnot but she was not happy.
I had something similar happen. My landscape crew got too much red and white rock for my front yard. So I said FREE red and white rock. NOT gravel but it is all about small fist size to large fist size. FREE, if you want it come and get it. IN the front corner of the yard about five hundred pounds of each color. I do NOT have a pickup and cannot deliver so please do not ask. It is free so come get it. One guy said he does not haul rocks for free but would take it all for 200 bucks. Another apparent dumbass wanted to know why I could not use my trunk to deliver it as he was vet and I should bring it to him for his service. What is wrong with people?
Where do you dump your trash.? Just asking for a friend who needs a telly
Love his response. Thanks for covering the swearing. But, I understand why he said it!
Thank you for expressing so vividly and truthfully what everyone who ever sold anything on Craigslist feels. Lol. I could have written a comic novella from one couch listing.
I once tried to get rid of an okay, but old couch, for nothing. Here lives a lot of students and i had the throughts someone could safe want it. One downside was, i lived at that time in the 5. floor without a elevator. had a lot of interest as expected, but endet up in recycling center, because nobody wanted that thing not that bad.
I have a storage garage full of s**t I need to sell and this is why I am terrified to try. I also have brand new clothes, tags on but people are so shady!
We have something called Freegle in the UK. If you don't show up 3 times to get something you told the giver you wanted, you get removed from the website.
FYI, Freegle was invented by a USian - it used to be called Freecycle in the UK as it is in the US, but the person who came up with it decided to sue the UK FC community for using that name, so it had to be renamed. That's why the UK now has Freegle and Greencycle, respectively - both offshoots of Freecycle. Also, that may be the policy on your local group, but it isn't applicable UK-wide.

A representative of the London-based Freelancer Club explained to me in a previous interview about saying ‘no’ to unpaid work. The organization aims to put a stop to exploitative unpaid work and late payments in the freelance sector.
“We are working hard to change the culture around working for exposure, experience, prestige, and the promise of paid work in the future by educating new and aspiring freelancers. We highlight the impact it has on their career, show them how valuable they are, and work on their self-worth,” the representative told Bored Panda earlier. “On the company side, we show them how paying freelancers fairly is better for their bottom line as well as their long-term reputation. In addition, we are pressuring the government to change legislation that will provide more legal protection for freelancers who are clearly being exploited for their talent.”

Funny how parents often cheap out on their babysitters. And by the way: "we want someone who isn't in just for the money!" What in the actual f**k? Those people need to be asked if they would to their job for half the money...
Those people and companies that suggest to others that they should work for exposure instead of for money end up showing everyone how they view others and what they think they’re worth.
“Many see freelancers, particularly in the creative sector, as hobbyists and believe they can get away with ‘paying’ in exposure. They leverage their audience size, their brand name, or the allure of gaining recognition. This is why services in exchange for exposure is commonplace in glamourous sectors such as fashion, music, and film,” the rep from the Freelancer Club said.

“From a freelancer point of view, they are often told that working for exposure is a rite of passage or an essential part of building a portfolio by their teachers, college professors, and peers. This has created a culture of exploitation that we must address at both ends. At Freelancer Club, we take a hardline and suggest freelancers say ‘no.’ The issue is that some ‘freelancers’ are individuals with a passion who will freely give their work away for exposure whilst professionals rely on payment to survive. This muddies the water.”

Sometimes I'll call someone to give me a bid on some work (remodeling, landscaping, etc) , and it turns out to be like 4x more expensive than I expected, and there's no way I can afford it. And I actually feel BAD, and sort of embarrassed, for wasting their time. I'm really confused by people who think they have the right to be rude and insulting when someone charges more than they want to pay.
I mean, there’s a middle ground to be had here. Obviously you should be polite when you find out something costs more than you can afford, but self-recrimination over something like that isn’t necessary in order to be a decent person.
Load More Replies...my nephew invited me to his wedding (nice), but they scheduled it to be on the beach in Jamaica (too expensive for me).... They must have not been able to find a local hometown church or hall to hire, so now everyone is expected to fly to the Caribbean and spend two grand each (or more) to give them a fitting celebration & send-off. Hmm.... I replied back that my situation at that time couldn't afford this sort of a luxury, but I would like to come to the reception planned back home after their two week honeymoon in Jamaica was over. No invitation to the reception back home was forthcoming, since he was mad that his uncle would not give him this sort of ego fulfillment ... fine, no wedding present was forthcoming from me, I am usually quite generous. He has had nothing to do with me since then. He must not be able to forgive, forget, & move on, even though I did not do anything wrong. Grudges are poison.

Load More Replies...the dept. chair at the local jr. college recruited me several times to come to work for him part-time. I said to let me know when a full-time staff position opens up. I told him I did not have the stamina to work a part-time job at night on top of the full-time job I already held. He said it was dept. policy that you have to work part-time (unbenefitted position) to invest enough "dues" to be allowed to bid on a full-time job. I know one guy they worked for seven years as a part-timer before they took him on staff. They gave him a very irregular day & night schedule, not just night classes, so he could not hold a benefitted full-time day job at the same time. So I walked out, nope, don't want to play that way. I understand it has become common in higher education to play this game. They could easily consolidate two part-time teaching positions into one full-time position, but they don't want to pay anything towards benefits and retirement for the teachers. Talk about exploitation! Sometimes educators with doctoral degrees are supposed to hang on like this for years as part-timers in hopes that someone will finally resign, retire, or die. Even then, there is no guarantee that they will get the full-time tenure-track job they have been waiting for.
This makes my blood boil. Aaaaaarggggghhhh *screamsinhelplessrage*

I have a lawn service. The first opportunity my customers have to be unhappy is when we "agree" on a price. If they are unhappy with my fee, they will be unhappy customers for the entire time I am in their service. In short, don't ask if I can do it for $20 less per month.
