35 Entitled People Who Thought They Deserved More Than Everybody Else But Got Shamed Instead (New Pics)
We’re all familiar with the saying that beggars can’t be choosers—if you desperately need or want something, then you should be willing to sit down and be humble. How often does that happen, though? Honestly? Not as often as it should. The world’s full of arrogant, privileged choosing beggars who think they’re royalty and throw a fit if someone can’t meet their unfair expectations.
The worst of the worst get shamed on r/ChoosingBeggars, a community of nearly 2.2 million people who call out people who are being way too picky when begging for things. If you’re ever in a situation where you’re unsure if what you’re doing is right or wrong, the ‘Choosing Beggars’ subreddit is your North Star on how not to behave.
Have a look through some of the most popular recent posts about choosing beggars, upvote the ones that infuriated you the most, and let us know if you’ve ever dealt with similar people in your lives, dear Pandas. Many choosing beggars either want huge discounts for products that their hearts are set on or… they want things completely for free or exposure. Calling these people ‘cheap’ would do a disservice to just how impolite and demanding some of them truly are.
Rudeness and a false sense of entitlement are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to choosing beggars. You see, they think they’re special and that the entire world has to dance to their tune because… well… just because!

A representative of the London-based Freelancer Club explained to me in a previous interview about saying ‘no’ to unpaid work. The organization aims to put a stop to exploitative unpaid work and late payments in the freelance sector.
“We are working hard to change the culture around working for exposure, experience, prestige, and the promise of paid work in the future by educating new and aspiring freelancers. We highlight the impact it has on their career, show them how valuable they are, and work on their self-worth,” the representative told Bored Panda earlier. “On the company side, we show them how paying freelancers fairly is better for their bottom line as well as their long-term reputation. In addition, we are pressuring the government to change legislation that will provide more legal protection for freelancers who are clearly being exploited for their talent.”

Funny how parents often cheap out on their babysitters. And by the way: "we want someone who isn't in just for the money!" What in the actual f**k? Those people need to be asked if they would to their job for half the money...
Those people and companies that suggest to others that they should work for exposure instead of for money end up showing everyone how they view others and what they think they’re worth.
“Many see freelancers, particularly in the creative sector, as hobbyists and believe they can get away with ‘paying’ in exposure. They leverage their audience size, their brand name, or the allure of gaining recognition. This is why services in exchange for exposure is commonplace in glamourous sectors such as fashion, music, and film,” the rep from the Freelancer Club said.

“From a freelancer point of view, they are often told that working for exposure is a rite of passage or an essential part of building a portfolio by their teachers, college professors, and peers. This has created a culture of exploitation that we must address at both ends. At Freelancer Club, we take a hardline and suggest freelancers say ‘no.’ The issue is that some ‘freelancers’ are individuals with a passion who will freely give their work away for exposure whilst professionals rely on payment to survive. This muddies the water.”

All These Teens Do Is Play Fortnite And Take Drugs! They Should Work For Me For Free!
Ah poor person, imagine not being able to use teenagers as slaves when your doing it out of the goodness of your heart, lol!
Or for stipends, no less 🙄 philanthropist of the year
Load More Replies...Fined? He should be imprisoned. I don't get why wage theft is more acceptable than burglary. You're cheated out of your hard-earned work either way. We need to start balancing white collar and blue collar crimes, when the effect is the same.
Wage theft is actually worse in many cases than corporation shoplifting, because while taking $5 worth of something from a large chain will have little effect on the success of the corporation overall, wage theft can leave an entire family homeless and food insecure.
Load More Replies...Hmm, a free summer to do what you want to do or a summer doing slave labour? Can't decide what I'd like better!
"I'm f****** pissed cause I lack basic empathy and humanity and can't see why people would need a living wage" there thats better
And rants against "socialism" and "welfare queens"... while getting a stipend from the government.
Load More Replies...He's lucky. I'd like to see him on community service and his business confiscated.
So the only alternative for kids are Job vs. Crime & drugs. uh, well no
If all they do is play video games then they are already off the streets
"I am educating them out of my pocket", says the guy who literally just got fined for NOT PAYING HIS STAFF
If you do not pay them but they work for free for you, then you are not hirering them! Volenteerng work can sometimes be a good thing, e.g. when done for a non profit organisation and the one doing the work enjoyt it, but what is proposed here is just plain exploitation, and you even expect the goverment to pay you for their work?
Not sure how much the kids would learn from someone who can't pay staff
Lol, lots of things-- he just wouldn't be aware of his own "teachings".
Load More Replies..."hiring for free"? Look up the word hiring. Also "staff" implies they are paid by you doofus.
Why can’t slavery be legal I’m keeping criminals off the street!!?? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Last time I checked, to "hire" someone, you have to "pay" them...
It appears he hired them for pay and then didn't pay them for the work they did. Hence the reason he was fined for wage theft.
Load More Replies...Nice try but your rationalized free offers are plain dumb. Motivation is not your strong suit.
Is this for real? People that are not getting paid for the work they do are slaves not staff.
As a kid I worked on local farms in exchange for veggies and eggs for the fam. Loved the work, learned a lot. The owners were not wealthy, just small family farms desperate to scratch out a living. They taught me all about organic gardening, canning produce and self sufficiency. They never expected anyone to work for free even though they didn't have much money, they respected everyone.
I'm pretty sure hiring someone involves paying them. If they're not getting paid, they're volunteers.
So you were fined for promoting slavery, and you are the pissed one? What about the people working for no money?
Damn I wish the government would pay me for using modern-day slavery, is what I took from that.
Coming up with the idea that ALL teenagers = drug addicts and criminals is kinda sad, since it tells that this person has had no occasion to actually talk to young people in a very, very long time.
I think is the guy who use to own a chicken place around here. Or the one Mexican restaurant. It's happened a few times around here. They figured kids would have any recourse. They were wrong and the entire community refused to support their businesses.
Not only does this absolute garbage bag of a person expect free labor from teens, but also he expect the government to pay HIM for "hiring" them. There are times when I fear for my faith in humanity. This is one such time.
Lets see...work for this d**k for free....or do something i enjoy for free.....hmmmmmm tough choice here
He must have skipped the day that management class discussed unpaid interns. Even that rankles me: unpaid intern = white-collar slave legal loophole
How is it YOUR POCKET, when you don't pay them? Oh, and how do you keep crime rates down when you don't pay them so they can buy essentials?
Stipend = a regular sum of payment. This person expects to be PAID to receive FREE LABOR
Candidate campaigning for an ass-whooping there. I would elect his ass before he got 2 syllables out, lol. He used the word "stipend". That, and rationalizations and implied entitlement, indicate to me a possibility, if not a downright probability, that this crusty piece of feculence actually believes the s**t he said. F****n wow.
Those teens won't be staying off the street if you aren't paying them for work. And you want a stipend from the govt. also? Your business is not going to last very long, Scrooge.
"Me hiring them for free" is a complete contradiction, you moron. When you HIRE someone it is with the expectation that they will receive actual money - as in a wage, which does NOT MEAN FREE. Where do these douchebags come from? I tried to explain (repeatedly) to the GM at a former company that you could not switch someone to salary and then still expect them to work 60 hours week without compensation. I was the DoA/HR Manager and could basically recite WA State labor law in my sleep. An anonymous phone call to L&I took care of that little problem right quick.
Interesting how different countries work. I had 2 "apprenticeships" (we call them Praktikum) during my school years. They were mandatory and coordinated with the school. They were not payed in general but we still got some compensation. They were there, so we could see how it is to work and maybe find something what we would like to do in the future. What we call apprenticeship is a 3 year long dual schooling with 3 days at work and 2 days in school, where we learn our craft AND GET PAYED FOR IT!
Plus 25-30 days payed vacation, unlimited "sick days", christmas bonus and of course a proper health care (the employer pays half).
Load More Replies...If this person is an "employer" and wants to "hire" teens, doesn't that imply payment for services rendered?
How is this person in a position to hire people, while being so stupid?
It's not necessarily a boomer. Why on earth would you assume that? Mostly it's the "influencer" generation who expects free stuff.
Load More Replies...I AM A SCUDDING TEEN AND I STILL WOULDN'T WORK FOR FREE. THE NERVE OF SOME PEOPLE.
Unfortunately this kind of arrangement is also called an "internship", and it is still extremely common.
Yeesh, I can't even find someone to hire me. Every website I go to is either "18 year olds and up only" or I apply and nothing happens.
The government pays him for "hiring" these kids. Even though he isn't paying them.
Load More Replies...An employee's job is to make the boss money. If the employee can't do their job, they should be fired. This kind of relationship always makes sure there is enough money for payroll.
He has a right to offer a unpaid internship. The kids have a right to refuse.

Sometimes I'll call someone to give me a bid on some work (remodeling, landscaping, etc) , and it turns out to be like 4x more expensive than I expected, and there's no way I can afford it. And I actually feel BAD, and sort of embarrassed, for wasting their time. I'm really confused by people who think they have the right to be rude and insulting when someone charges more than they want to pay.
I mean, there’s a middle ground to be had here. Obviously you should be polite when you find out something costs more than you can afford, but self-recrimination over something like that isn’t necessary in order to be a decent person.
Load More Replies...my nephew invited me to his wedding (nice), but they scheduled it to be on the beach in Jamaica (too expensive for me).... They must have not been able to find a local hometown church or hall to hire, so now everyone is expected to fly to the Caribbean and spend two grand each (or more) to give them a fitting celebration & send-off. Hmm.... I replied back that my situation at that time couldn't afford this sort of a luxury, but I would like to come to the reception planned back home after their two week honeymoon in Jamaica was over. No invitation to the reception back home was forthcoming, since he was mad that his uncle would not give him this sort of ego fulfillment ... fine, no wedding present was forthcoming from me, I am usually quite generous. He has had nothing to do with me since then. He must not be able to forgive, forget, & move on, even though I did not do anything wrong. Grudges are poison.
I think, it should have been on their dime. Not yours.
Load More Replies...the dept. chair at the local jr. college recruited me several times to come to work for him part-time. I said to let me know when a full-time staff position opens up. I told him I did not have the stamina to work a part-time job at night on top of the full-time job I already held. He said it was dept. policy that you have to work part-time (unbenefitted position) to invest enough "dues" to be allowed to bid on a full-time job. I know one guy they worked for seven years as a part-timer before they took him on staff. They gave him a very irregular day & night schedule, not just night classes, so he could not hold a benefitted full-time day job at the same time. So I walked out, nope, don't want to play that way. I understand it has become common in higher education to play this game. They could easily consolidate two part-time teaching positions into one full-time position, but they don't want to pay anything towards benefits and retirement for the teachers. Talk about exploitation! Sometimes educators with doctoral degrees are supposed to hang on like this for years as part-timers in hopes that someone will finally resign, retire, or die. Even then, there is no guarantee that they will get the full-time tenure-track job they have been waiting for.

I have a lawn service. The first opportunity my customers have to be unhappy is when we "agree" on a price. If they are unhappy with my fee, they will be unhappy customers for the entire time I am in their service. In short, don't ask if I can do it for $20 less per month.
