Ecuador is a beautiful country filled with stunning natural environments, and is also one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. When Ecuador’s Tourism Board wanted a new ad campaign to represent these facts, Brazilian creative agency Manipula came up with the perfect solution, creating a series of stunning photos of submerged creatures whose exposed body parts have transformed into parts of the rugged and storied Galapagos Islands.

One of the most surprising things about this project is that the animals are CGI rather than photos – In Manipula’s work-in-progress photos, you can see how they created the creatures from digital 3D meshes! The environments on their backs represent Ecuador’s 4 most significant natural areas – the Amazon, the Andes, the Pacific coast and the Galapagos islands.

Their project reminds me of these equally majestic sculptures by Chinese artist Wang Ruilin. Take a look!
