Hi, my name is Evgeny Ches, I’m a graffiti and contemporary artist from Moscow, Russia. I call the technique that I use Cellograffiti, it’s basically painting on the plastic wrap instead of walls or other places.

Beautiful. Do you take them down after? I'd imagine it's safer for the animals if they're not kept there.
He sure took them down afterwards, simply wanted the forest as background!!!

I don't understand the plastic medium. What do you do with them once you are done? You can't move them and hopefully you don't leave them up

You're very talented and to those giving the artist a hard time. No artist would just leave the plastic wrap hanging in the forest. I'm positive it's just for a great photo and then he'll take it down.
Yeah, not sure he thought this through..... at all.... at least give some assurance you're not just leaving hundreds of foot of plastic in the forest.
He isn't. The paintings are his way of bringing street art into nature, but he takes them down when he finishes them. It's just for the statement and the cool pictures. He did think it through.

I've heard that certain artists believe that art is meant to be transitory--that we are to appreciate it in the brief time that it exists. Some see it as a metaphor for life. There are many examples, such as Christo, or anyone who makes sand sculptures, sidewalk chalk, etc.
I call that 4-D art. Assuming that time is the fourth dimension, the only way we perceive it is through memory. So any art created to be temporary and then only recorded as an experience is 4-D. Recording it in photos or other medium is not the same. It's a representation of the creation but not the same as the actual experience.

My one question is this . . . how in the name of all things holy did you get that much plastic wrap 'straightened out' like that without going absolutely mad in the process?
It's commercial pallet wrap, it's thicker and easier to use that the domestic cling film

Hey, I haven't been trying to use as little plastic wrap as possible, just so an artist could use a freaking lot of it and not giving a damn about the ecology. This art is beautiful, but come on, people will have to live on this planet after us

I do respect your excellent artwork. But what happens to the plastic wrap after ? It is sooo toxic . Animals eat it, it gets stuck in their digestive system and does NOT pass. Then they die of starvation with full bellies. 2 : the wrap can break up in to small bits and get washed down into rivers ( a big problem ) Or get washed down to the ocean another BIG problem. We actually don't know how the chemicals in these materials are effecting wild life , both on land and in water. .....just please tell me you take it all home again with you. ... Please.
He totally removes it all, you can google the project for affirmation: "Ches tells HuffPost that he removes everything once the project is complete, leaving the scene just as he found it."

I just love them all but the raptor is my fave. Would be so cool if you could get the plastic wrap to be less wrinkled to have the actual forest come through more. You should try bringing giant plaxi glass or something to have the pure forest background. That would be awesome.
WOW this is awsome, I don´t think the artist leaves the plastic wraps in the forest, he uses the forest as background and probably later exposes the artworks in a hall or on walls, simply did this to get these beautiful photos!!!

So, cellograf founders Astro, Greg & Kanos from France used to do that medium a long time earlier. The topics in this context is funny, but nevertheless, myself did that also. But hey, respect to Moscow ...

He isn't just leaving reams of plastic wrap in the woods.

That is excellent.I would be thrilled to see 'bear' in a forest I frequent. A pity too many treehuggers who have never actually been in a forest need to comment negatively....
Maybe ask the OP about it before making assumptions, how do you know if he leaves them there ? Does he say so ? Is there anything pointing towards this person littering the forrest ? Don't get me wrong, you make a valid point but making very strong judgmental statements without knowing the facts is not the way to intelligently "ask" this question.
