Amputee Ranked Second In The World For Judo Against Those Without Physical Disabilities
I am currently ranked second in the world for Judo following on from a silver medal at the World Judo Games. Judo is not a Paralympic sport unless the athlete has a visual impairment so the WJG is the biggest competition in the world.
I am the only lower limb amputee in the world to compete internationally and I fight against those without physical disabilities. The other athletes will often have a mild learning or social impairment such a dyslexia, autism or ADHD.
Until the WJG, I was not allowed to compete with my prosthetic leg and in 2018, I achieved a bronze medal. With two legs, I then managed to achieve a silver medal, ranking me second in the world.
I aim to inspire others to be involved in sport through my Facebook page (Jamie Game Adaptive Athlete).
