”Mineral” is not the first thing to come to mind when you hear the word “beauty,” and that‘s a pity because they look so, so neat. However, this selection of some of the pretty minerals and stones in the world will be a feast for your eyes.

A mineral is a naturally occurring substance that is solid and inorganic, representable by a chemical formula, and has an ordered atomic structure. Rocks, unlike minerals, don't have a specific chemical composition and can be made of both minerals or non-minerals. Although there are over 4,900 known types of these cool minerals, the ones here are just the most beautiful ones that our readers and we could find.

Check our compilation of beautiful rocks and pretty stones below!

Who's to say that our universe might not be observed in a similar manner in a reality unknown to us?!

To me, it looks like lots of little faces, screaming. Still pretty though. :)

Nah this should be #1 Labradorite is an amazing stone, I love that it demands your attention and manipulation if you're to ever hope to see all of the plays of colour, and in varying lights if you want to see the full range of colours in some of them. A gorgeous, physical reminder that nature has a beauty beyond pretty scenery and in such small packages.

Cuprite, the ruby crystal. It isn’t ruby, rather copper oxide. Its crystal is beautiful! It’s very precious, however, because whenever it’s exposed to any light its color darkens and turns a brownish purple. This is a really nice specimen!

This is why people take such care when they are unearthing fossils. Beautiful.
