I am from Europe and don't know what you lot are on about. I google mapped some borders between the USA and Mexico and where there are towns/cites close to the border, there are already 'walls'. Walls with razor wire on top, really high fences for miles. Armed guard towers. What exactly will be so different about another stretch somewhere?
