To Help Planespotting Photographers Get Shots, This Airport In Canada Had Holes Cut Out In Their Fence

Canada is known to be home to progressive and friendly people and they often come up with ideas that the rest of the world later follows. Consequently, while the TSA is depicting aviation photographers as creepy, potential terrorists, Canadians in Quebec are granting them rights to capture as many aviation photographs as they like. Therefore, recently, Jean-Lesage International Airport of Québec announced that it has teamed up with the Québec-based planespotting community YQB Aviation in order to install special panels around the airport to provide photographers with the ability to snap pictures from various angles.

Jean-Lesage International Airport has already won awards for its environmental practices and as an outstanding workplace, it may come as no surprise that they continue introducing creative initiatives. The airport has partnered up with the aviation photographers group called YQB Aviations to make fellow photographers’ lives a tad easier.

Local plane-spotting group YQB Aviation worked together with the airport to determine the best angles for capturing planes and installed various panels for photographers to shoot through. They have then created 10 sites around the area of the airport that provide views of what photographers want to shoot.

Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport has made camera holes in various locations around its perimeter fence to allow photographers to capture the planes taking off, landing, and moving along its runways and taxi areas.

That was a very kind thing to do. I'm sure this made the some plane spotters very happy. I personally never understood the appeal of photographing planes, but I'm happy for the people who do. Every person needs something they're enthusiastic about.
