Racist Man Demands That A Woman Stop Speaking Spanish On A Plane, Passengers Troll Him By Speaking Spanish Too
Racism seems to be an endless topic nowadays, which may appear a tiny bit odd since we have so much racial diversity in the majority of the Western world. There are so many stories about it everywhere. On the other hand, there are still people waiting to build a wall in order to keep someone from entering their country. ‘Quite extreme’ one may say, right?
Having that in mind, it’s so good to have these random acts of kindness with a sprinkle of humor. It definitely makes us keep our heads up and the hope for the world to get better going strong. Today’s story is one of those sparks of hope and is featuring Jaime Primak, who got in trouble for speaking Spanish. Scroll down to find out more!

Jaime Primak Sullivan recently got attention on Twitter after talking about an encounter with a racist man

This woman, who is a real public relations guru, brand building and event planning, also a writer, producer, and an acknowledged author of ‘The Southern Education of a Jersey Girl’ is usually not one to let such things slide. But this time, it was other people who took charge of the situation by jumping into the conversation the grumpy racist passenger hated so much. After she shared a quick cheeky message on Twitter, it soon blew up into a massive thread as everyone seemed to want to have been a part of it.

Share on FacebookIt's just a weird thing to say as English isn't the official language in the USA. I would have loved to speak my two Spanish sentences 'dos cervecas, por favor' and 'vamos a la playa'.
It's weird I speak Swedish all the time in public but I never get any comments, then again I live in Ireland everyone is pretty accepting here. This man needs bigger things to worry about
I think it has more to do with skin color than the actual language.
Load More Replies...I never get why people are so rude with other languages... The only dog trainer in the area of Belgium where I live not only refused to help me train my dog because she is trained in English (and as we live in Belgium 'she must be trained in flemish') but also gave me a 5 min speech about how I cant speak to my partner and dog IN MY HOUSE in any language that is not flemish...
How dare you minding your own business in your own home! You know what, people are weird.
Load More Replies...I worked in at a company that hired Spanish speakers and Eastern European speakers and everybody also spoke English. One day a group of ladies that only spoke English were complaining "This is America they should speak English". I challenged them, "Why are you afraid they are talking about you?".......a meek answer was "yes". If you hear someone demanding someone speak English ask them why.
Glowdaddy, do the English-only ladies think that they're a source of fascination to their colleagues? Really??? At one of my work-places some non-Chinese asked the Cantonese speakers what they talked out about -- they weren't at all bothered, just wondering what topics caused these ladies to be so animated in the lunch room. The Cantonese speakers looked a bit sheepish and one of them admitted, "Movie stars from Hong Kong". Celeb gossip -- the universal language :)

I have a friend here in England with a very posh accent, she went to USA for holidays and a woman stopped to complement her on her British accent, my friend replied: darling, you are the one with the accent!
Haven't been a bystander to something like but back in college while waiting for class, heard one of my classmates, absolutely bright girl, speaking in Arabic on her phone. She noted my curiosity and I simply said that i didn't understand athing she said but it sounded beautiful.
Arabic, specially some acents like syrian, sounds beautiful :)
Load More Replies...If the conversation wasn’t directed toward him, why did he think he had the right to butt in and tell her what language she could use to have a conversation With Someone Else?! IT WAS NONE OF HIS BUSINESS. How TF paranoid can you be at hearing languages that aren’t English—-which people speak in other countries (yeah, real weird, I know. /s) Unless you’re being a real d**k, and everyone’s talking about you, people conversing in other languages aren’t either. Shut TF up and mind your own business.
I've had that speaking French in Canada. Of course, this was in Ontario... But still, French is one of the two official languages of Canada.
I've gotten the same thing speaking English in Quebec. Rude people are everywhere. It was just one person and they shut up pretty damn quick when my husband starting speaking perfect French to them (he's French, born in Quebec, but has no accent).
Load More Replies...I want to be friends with the person who knows how to swear in all those languages!
I play lot of MMORPGs. Over the years playing with many people from all around the world I am able to swear in 8 languages. And yes I am proud of that. :)

Load More Replies...So weird how people get bent out of shape over this. I'm going to brush up on my college Spanish now so I can be prepared!
There are d*cks everywhere. I'm Brazilian and live in the UK. A few times people that knew my origins asked me to "stop speaking in Brazilian" (admittedly one was joking, but some were absolutely not), to which I just answered, "I wasn't speaking in Brazilian" and carry on speaking Portuguese...
For those wondering, the phrase that Jaime Rodriguez says in french, means: "I'm sorry you're stupid, and you speak only one language".
Recently on a bus in Holland, an American tourist complained that the driver didn't speak English. I intervened, and explained to him that we speak Dutch, but when we go to the US we speak English, as courtesy. Now he's in Holland, he should express that same courtesy, and address us in Dutch.
Are we sure he did not demand she "Stop talking Mexican"? That is a favorite of my ignorant racist family. "They can't even talk English!". hmmm... My people. Sigh.
Your folks seem to speak excellent American. I hear it's very close to English.
Load More Replies...I think the only time one should speak English if in American is in a professional setting. It's rude to talk a native language when you have clients around. It makes many uncomfortable. Other than that, it's no ones business how you choose to communicate.
in my team, we have german, french, italian and turkish native speakers and when the people are together, everyone speaks german

Then there was the man in Arizona who told the woman talking on the phone behind him in line that "this America, we speak English, either learn English or go home", etc. Turned out she was speaking to her sister in Navajo.
Read about that. Her comeback was even better. "I was speaking Navajo to my sister. If you want to speak English, go back to England "

I can cuss in four different languages, as can my daughter. I would have asked her to start swearing in Finnish! I should learn Gaelic or something just for such an occasion 😁 And just to learn a new language of course :)
*cracks knuckles* time to up my game on language learning. Need to be prepared.
Добрий привід читати Українська поезія! (That's a good reason to resite Ukrainian poetry!) Why would you care, unless you're worried they're talking about you?
He's have hated Wales then, where Welsh is the first language in mid and north Wales.
why can't we speak whatever language we f*****g like? I would have decked him if he told me to stop speaking French
I took French in high school and I took Spanish in college. Several men of my family have worked with language speakers of all languages and on occasion we slip into Spanglish. This world is made up of many different people from many different cultures who speak many different languages and we need to embrace that. These people who are always yelling about people needing to "speak American" do not realize how ignorant they sound when they say that. Here are some things to remember if you are a die hard American: American is not a language, the US does not have an official language, and English comes from England.
Spanish is my native tongue!! It would have been soo nice to be there!
I speak English, Spanish, and French. I feel ashamed that I can't speak beyond these parameters. I would never attack somebody for speaking Cantonese or Arabic in front of. I would rather sit next to them and ask if they'd teach me basics, like "Hello." That's just me, though.
I think I'd bring my husband and son into the mix so they can speak Japanese in front of him..lol
Most people who have a problem with others speaking other than English are afraid that others are speaking about them. Its an insecurity thing.
I would've totally broken out the, donde esta la biblioteca in support, and I'm Chinese. No one's fault the man can only speak one language.
Whoever wrote the title of this thread should go back to English class. Obviously he/she hasn't a clue of the difference between "coincidence and correlation" It is a "coincidence that many bigots are also racists, but the two together do not necessarily represent a "correlation".
If they weren't addressing me in Spanish, I would simply ignore them and let them enjoy their PRIVATE conversation.
You could have responded " I will stop speaking Spanish if you will stop breathing." I am glad that others helped put him in his place.
I know right! It's so awesome to see people support each other.
