No matter the grey hair, for our parents, we will always be babies. Hence, all the unasked advice on changing jobs, traveling abroad, getting a loan, you know it. But this time, we won't be talking about humans as we shift onto the animal kingdom to see what animal babies are like.

The obvious thing is how impawsibly cute they are. But other than that, for those who skipped biology (myself included), animal babies are somewhat of an unknown terrain. Do baby hedgehogs even have spikes? Do newborn gorillas resemble human beings? Baby sloths, are they just as cute and slow as adult sloths?

So Bored Panda has prepared for you quite a collection of pictures that should answer all these questions. Be prepared to make your heart melt, and don’t forget to upvote your favorite baby animals! Psst! More pictures of rare animal babies you probably have never seen can be found right here.

Suddenly, A Tiny Baby Skunk

Suddenly, A Tiny Baby Skunk

colorlessbacon Report

The primary way that animals grow and develop is by building more cells. When an animal eats food, its body breaks the food down and uses it to fuel its energy requirements and build new cells through the process of mitosis. These new, or daughter, cells are often similar in size to the old, or parent, cells.

In order to produce more cells, animal cells divide in two. The process is a complex one since the parent cell has to produce new organelles for each resulting daughter cell. It then has to copy the genetic code as accurately as possible and transfer both copies of the genetic code into the nuclei of the daughter cells. In science, it’s called mitosis.

How can people see this and kill their mothers and keep the kids as pets?

However, mitosis requires a lot of energy that comes from food, along with the raw materials for constructing more cells. The food that animals eat is then transformed into usable energy for cells or can be used to build new cells, which form tissues like skin and muscle. The process of growth involves eating food, breaking down food through digestion, absorbing nutrients from food, and building tissue.

The rate of growth of an organism has a direct impact on its ability to adapt to the environment. For instance, an increase in the rate of growth of fleshy parts of the fish fin would provide an opportunity for the fish to adapt more easily to terrestrial locomotory life than could a fish without this modified fin. Scientists believe that hence, it may play a role in evolution.

We had a family of them in my backyard this year (we actually have bunnies every single summer. They get so close-they trust us!) Anyways, I found the hole one day while mowing the lawn. I wondered why there was a clump of fur in the ground. When I moved it, I saw naked little creatures laying in there. I quickly recovered the hole and looked for mama, who was near by. About 2 weeks later, and the babies (who looked like the pic) were out, but not far from the hole. My daughter and I went (quietly and carefully) to have a look. Mom was there and didn't mind us at all. She actually went off looking for food in the yard behind ours. It was amazing that she trusted us completely with her babies! We were 5 feet away! It was a completely magical moment! I hope those babies are back next year with thier own babies and trust us again!

We found a bunny like this shivering in the bushes by himself. We took, him in and fed him from a bottle. He got so he would follow my husband around the house, hopping after him. Little tiny thing hopping around! Then after about a week we woke up on Easter Sunday morning and he had died. Oh how my kids cried! Thirty years ago and we all still remember it.

Oh! that is sweet. I see baby bunnies out my apartment window, because I am on the first floor and have a view of the back yard, which is covered in grass and includes one very big tree. I am so fortunate. I really treasure my itty bitty apartment. I have never seen a bunnie so little. I want to hold him while he sleeps. Have a great day!

Either that's a hare, which is born with fur, or its older than newborn. Rabbits are born naked, like baby rats and mice.

When I was a kid we had a male and female rabbit. They had three litters before we neutered the male, so I've seen several. Maybe a third was stillborn, many were killed by a stray cat, who fed them to her own babies she nested hidden in the top of our shed ... right in front of our eyes, the boldness. In the end, only five survived, all female besides the first male; we released them into the wild.

[Pauline] I found 2 baby bunnies in my landscape. The poor mommie left them there in a hurry because my neighbour had some digging work done. One baby died already because our dogs have been checking the spot out earlier, and the other one died in my hand. Baby bunnies are prong to heart attacks. I now have several bunnies who come to our property. I watch them chew grass and eat up the seeds. They are so adorable.

Our dog brought one home long ago. Apparently it had been abandoned by its mother due to a housing development construction going on. My mom said he just showed up one day with it tucked carefully in his mouth. He gently let it out. My mom nursed it back to health (this was before there were wild rehab centers), and he was released into a nearby field. The dog was a border collie mix, one of the best dogs we ever had.

Betchu I have seen many, many baby rabbits. Raised them, too, on the farm. Plus, I did wildlife rehab for years. Bunnies are extremely difficult to rehab, so it takes a special person and a very quiet environment.
