Being an actor is hard work as it requires one to have many great skills, learn fast and be in sync with other creators. Some might say that it is also an unstable job as you might never know when or what your next role might be or when your next big break is going to happen. Having this in mind, Reddit user @SuperNntendoChlmers asked others online who are some of the actors and actresses who “revived” their careers by getting that one important role that made them well-known. Soon their question was answered by giving names of various famous actors and the roles they played so well that everyone knows them for it.

The question that received almost 15k upvotes was answered by naming some of the greatest actors such as John Travolta, Neil Patrick Harris, Sean Connery, etc., who, despite their success now, were struggling to get their career up and running.

What are some of the actors that you would add to this list? Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments down below!

“Call Me Crazy, But Ryan Reynolds”: Users Online Name 30 Actors Who Managed To Revive Their Career With A Single Role Well it's not a lock yet but I'm hoping Brendan Fraser's career resurgence continues. I'm going to see The Whale when it hits the theaters, if we go out in force to support him the dumbasses in Hollywood will see that he's still a big box office draw and continue to cast him.

“Call Me Crazy, But Ryan Reynolds”: Users Online Name 30 Actors Who Managed To Revive Their Career With A Single Role Sean Connery's career in the early 1980s had just completely fallen off the rails. He was in some bad non A-list films throughout the '70s. Couldn't shake the shadow of James Bond.

Then Brian DePalma cast him in The Untouchables. He got nominated for his amazing role and his career was back on track doing films like Indiana Jones, The Hunt for Red October, and The Rock. Great Hollywood comeback.

Yes, I remember that interview. Its hard for some to shake off the way they had been raised unfortunately. Edit: Just to clarify my statement: An explanation for a behaviour is not an excuse. A lot of men of that time and also today CHOOSE not to evolve. This has nothing to do with a lack of education but with a lack of empathy. Their own self-esteem and sense of worth benefits from patriachy. Especially dehumanizing women in a way that never allows them to be equals gives them the power to treat them (like their children) as they please. They cannot connect emotionally with women and can therefore hurt them without regret. This "privilege" is deeply ingrained in their system of belief. Its like talking to people of a certain political party. There is no use. Sean Connery was so convinced that abusing females is perfectly fine, that he actually tried to rationalize this in a interview. There were no words that could have been spoken to him that would have convinced him from otherwise. I really dislike to be misunderstood in this kind of context. It is important to understand that everyone is responsible and accountable for their behaviour towards others.

This is about how he revived his career, not his personal life, if we judged everyone on their personal life and beliefs then everyone including those decrying his beliefs would be found guilty of one or more injustices against humanity.

I fell in love with Sean Connery the first time I saw him on screen in Thunderball! I love “Marnie” ….he was wonderful in it. I wish the crap about him “hitting women” would die already! There was ONE incident decades ago, while having a fight with his then wife, and she was no angel either! Let it drop already for Pete’s sake! He is a fabulous actor.

I love how all the little kids that know nothing of the past, context, or perspective are trying to rip on an incredibly great man who donated and raised money year after year to support charities such as Wounded Warrior Project, Paralyzed Veterans of America, as well as the Elton John AIDS foundation. Oh, not to mention he's dead. And speaking of him being dead, he's still done more good in his last 10 years than any of you ever have, so why don't you take the vape down to the playground and start thinking about what YOU'VE accomplished.

Most of what killed his career in the first place was his lack of acting talent and his refusal to consider his accent. EVERY role he plays is Sean Connery with his Scottish accent whether he's English, Russian, Spanish, etc...

“Call Me Crazy, But Ryan Reynolds”: Users Online Name 30 Actors Who Managed To Revive Their Career With A Single Role Yeah, John Travolta has a f**king airport at his house because of Pulp Fiction.

Incidentally, I remember listening to an interview after Christoph Waltz had been nominated for a second time for a Quentin movie, and he gracefully expressed his appreciation for Tarantino having found him and gotten him better opportunities, but also said, "He gave me my break, but he didn't give me my craft," and I thought that was a great way of making that point.

John Travolta had huge success in Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Grease 1978) but was typecast and fell out of favor. His career declined until he played a supporting role in Look Who’s Talking (1989) and received good notices for a sweet airplane pilot that cut across the limits of his “type.” Two sequels later he finally stepped back into the big time with Pulp Fiction. Have you seen him in A Love Song for Bobby Long with Scarlett Johansson? A different kind of hero . . .

“Call Me Crazy, But Ryan Reynolds”: Users Online Name 30 Actors Who Managed To Revive Their Career With A Single Role Bryan Cranston - Walter White. No role could have offered such a perfect platform to show his range and make him employable for the rest of his life.

with Malcolm having ended, it would have been easy for Cranston to slip into obscurity until retirement, which isn’t exactly the end of a career but likely a steady pay decrease going forward. One thing is for sure, without breaking bad we’d be wondering “whatever happened to Hal, he was great”
