After Horrible People Abandoned These Puppies, They Got So Sick They Had Lost All Their Fur
29Kviews
When Kristina Rinaldi, executive director of Detroit Dog Rescue (DDR), went to collect 6 puppies from the animal control, she was shocked. The neglected puppies were found in an abandoned house in Detroit, Michigan. They were pink and hairless, with painfull sores all over their body. On top of that, they had fever and it seemed like they were burning. “When I say that these puppies were literally on fire, they were on fire,” Rinaldi told The Dodo. “They had high temperatures.”
The reason why the doggies lost their fur was a skin disease called mange. “I’ve seen a lot of mange cases in my dog rescue career, but this was the worst mange I had ever seen,” Rinaldi said.
Rinaldi rushed the puppies to a vet but unfortunately, 2 of them didn’t make it and died while on their way to the clinic. As for the other four… “The veterinarian said, ‘We’re working against the impossible,'” Rinaldi said.
They stayed at the care facility for about 12 weeks getting the right treatment. Meanwhile, staff members dressed them in baby onesies to help their skin heal. Soon they were ready to be adopted into loving forever homes.

I have adopted abused dogs, and I have adopted dogs that never knew an unhappy day. I find those who were abused are much more loving and gentle, like they know our hearts hurt for their suffering and they are trying to heal us. Some say lucky puppies for being rescued; I say lucky families for rescuing each other.
My experience is absolutely balanced. 2 rescued - 1 super grateful, 1 little devil. 2 from loving homes -1 the most loving ever, 1 cocky lil b*astard (I love him though:P)
you go for it I have a rescued deaf dog who was dumped after having 6 puppies she is so loving and loyal we use signs for her only thing when she is naughty she wont look at you so you have to laugh
I had a rescue dog and she was so gentle and so sweet, nicer than the non-rescue one I had, but she also often seemed scared and shy. She was terrified of my dad who is quite a tall and big man - he would never hurt her, but he basically couldn't even approach her, she would just lie down and start crying... He probably reminded her of her violent previous owner. She was just paralysed each time he would come into the room. We didn't keep her long unfortunately, she was already 7 when we got her (a St Bernard doesn't live too long) and died three years later of tumours in her stomach... But she had a good end of life and she was so sweet to everyone and often slept with my brother and I - we were both under 10 and she was very gentle with children!
Oh and for these three years, she would keep stealing food. You couldn't leave a meal unattended for a minute, she'd just steal it - her head was just high enough to reach the table. She was so used to starving that she never really registered that she had regular meals three times a day and that we would give her more food if she finished her. If there was food somewhere, she HAD to steal it - just in case the next meal wasn't coming. It was so sad to see she was emotionally scarred for life.

How can you do this to animals? I cried!
so did I
Sometimes it's so frickin depressing to be human. We suck as a species.
On one hand you're right, but you can't forget the kind people who helped these dogs. In life there is always good and bad and lucky for these pups good people stepped in to help. I'd like to think there are more good people than bad.
I have to agree with you sometimes I wonder where all these thoughts and deeds of hate come from
Along with the horrible people who did this there are the angels who saved them. Don't forget it's also the human species that created the medicines and treatments that heal these gorgeous dogs. We don't suck as a species, it's just some of us are more evolved than others.
