I'm a French artist, and my name is Dimitri "Jahz Design." I graduated as a graphic designer. I have always been interested in history and architectural remains. It was in 2013 when I developed my interest in the photography of heritage in disuse. My first exploration was an ancient cemetery of military ships.
I travel the globe looking for places in decline. Today, I want to share with you the most beautiful abandoned places around the world.
Also, check out my posts about the most beautiful abandoned castles, Georgian Soviet-era spas, European abandoned theaters, and lastly my most beautiful abandoned places around the world.

Abandoned Villa, Italy
People run out of money, move elsewhere, the places become neglected. Across my street, there's an abandoned Country club. Inside the golf store,(from the outside view) there's a computer, and a sunglasses rack, still with sunglasses. Pictures of the club. The outside scoreboard still has the sponsors (Amongst them many non-existent businesses) and the players with scores. Its only been abandoned for 2 years, but funny how damaged things can be neglected in such short time.
Load More Replies...I can almost imagine what's happening... Grape fields, Italian music from outside, laundry hanging outside and children running around, somebody cooking, and the villa being white with green trim, and a red/orange tile roof.
somebody needs to get a loan & fix this up... this could be a nice home again... a weekend get-away cottage or rental property... what's wrong with you people that you would let a potential income property like this just rot away? They call this "fix & flip" in the US... Somebody could make a lot of money doing that here.

Soviet Space Shuttles, Kazakhstan
Did the Soviets build the better space shuttle..? Yes they did! Don´t let the superficial resemblance fool you, given the same engineering problem with the technology at hand most designs will look similar. But the Buran was a next step in shuttles. It is interesting to speculate that if the Soviet union had not collapsed therefore pulling the rug from under the Buran´s feet, the Russians would have had an advanced spacecraft with capabilities way ahead of the American version of the shuttle. Sadly in the end the shuttle concept has proven to be a dead end. The betamax of spaceships.

I cant understand why possessions are left behind. Even the bed has the same pattern as the wallpaper

The detail in the dome looks as though there are tiny doorways all around it...such a beautiful haunting place with many stories to tell I'm sure!

Factory, Belgium
It’s so beautiful—I love that it looks like it’s made from metal rusted to varying degrees rather than the more prosaic rust-covered concrete.
These are hauntingly beautiful, I love how you can almost feel the laughter, cries, screams, and stories told within these buildings. The mysteries hidden, if only we could reach into history and grab the tales these buildings have to tell us! The many questions whispered in the walls, why were they abandoned? Did the family who used to own it loose everything suddenly? Had they all died, of war or disease? The chipped paint, growing mold, and intricate furniture that's left to gain dust only adds to the frightening beauty. My mystery-filled soul loves this. :) I do hope they get renovated and restored to their former glory however, there really is no use for keeping such grand buildings empty. Thank you for taking such beautiful pictures!
This was brilliant! All the activities in these buildings no longer exist. It makes me wonder why they are abandoned. Its a shame to see them rotting away to dust when there are people out there on the streets..... that would appreciate something like these. I hope they eventually get renovated and put to good use.
You can buy a castle in France for less than 100000 euros (like the one on the link build in the 15th century), the issue is not the price of the building, but the cost of the work that these buildings needs. Structural issues, lead pipes, rotten wooden floors, rotten walls, rotten wooden frame, rotten external joinery... These buildings needs total structural renovation that cost millions. https://www.chateauxpourtous.fr/p-11-acheter-achat-vente-chateau-medieval-en-ruine-a-vendre-poitou-charente-acheter-achat-vente-chateau-pas-cher-a-vendre-deux-sevres-argenton-les-vallees-79300.php

I love every picture. I would love to visit them and just feel history's energy around me.
I'm amazed people haven't robbed some of the things left in these buildings.
Wow, photos are amazing. Did the photographer ask for permission before entering the buildings?
Having lived in France I'm offended the government hasn't buy these buildings and put them in use, we need housing too :P
It cost far less to build new buildings than renovating castles and historical buildings. The goverment have a tiny fund for historical buildings (300 millions a year), it helps private owners and public owners of these buildings. It's just impossible to renovate all of them without billions, 300 millions is nothing, thousands of historical buildings are in need across the country.
