Dog Doesn’t Realize He Is Being Abandoned, Desperately Tries To Get Back In Car

Spare a thought for this poor pooch while tucking into Christmas dinner this year, and give your own pets an extra hug to make sure they feel loved! CCTV footage in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, has shown the heartbreaking and definitely un-festive moment that a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, nicknamed Snoop by his rescuers, was cruelly abandoned by his owners.

“The footage has to be seen to be believed, it’s just awful,” animal welfare officer Natalie Perehovsky said about the incident. “To see the poor dog in such obvious distress jumping up at the car as it drives away it just heartbreaking. I can’t understand how someone could do this.”

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has launched an investigation into Snoop’s case, after a passer-by discovered him sitting miserably alone on the street, in the bed that his owner had callously thrown out with him. “The vets scanned his microchip and we have traced two previous owners in the Birmingham area, but do not believe either are the current owners and therefore not those responsible for abandoning the dog,” Officer Perehovsky continued.

“One man can be seen clearly in the footage dumping the dog, and there is a second person in the driver seat of the car. I am very keen to hear from anyone who recognizes the vehicle, the man or the dog.”

“The veterinary staff have nicknamed the dog Snoop, and he is in good condition, thought to be two years old. He is a white Staffie with black marking and is such a friendly, lovely boy. He’s currently being cared for at a private boarding kennel where he will get all the care he needs whilst I investigate further.”

“It beggars belief that someone could abandon a dog like this at Christmas, but we are so thankful to the kind people who found Snoop sitting sadly in his bed, for taking him to the safety of a vet straight away.”

CCTV footage captured the heartless actions of Snoop’s former owners

Poor Snoop, who initially appears to have thought his owners were playing a game with him, tried desperately to get back in the car, even chasing after it as they tried to drive away. He now needs a loving home with people who will care for him, at just 2 years old he has seen three ‘owners’ come and go. His heartbreaking story is a timely reminder for anyone who is getting a new pet for Christmas: these animals are loving and loyal, and truly suffer when you abandon them. If you really find yourself unable to handle the responsibility of properly caring for your pet, at least take them to a shelter, where they can be looked after until a new home is found!

This is not acceptable. I started crying. And the poor dog, being abandoned is still chasing the care as if it was a game and wagging its tail. WE DO NOT DESERVE DOGS

I agree with you. My little Dachshund mix Miniature Doberman gets showered with love by all of us every day. I look for her if she gets out of sight for even 5 minutes. Not all human(pieces of s**t) deserve dogs. But not all humans are alike. Me, I absolutely love dogs, they give wholly, live freely and love unconditionally, asking very little in return, I love dogs more than I love people.

Clearly that pup has bonded with its bastard owner and clearly that person has no soul. Be ware of people who don't bond with pets properly and can easily ditch them at the first inconvenience, its usually the same for their human relationships as well.

I wonder what goes through the heads of people who just dump animals like garbage along the roadside. What's preventing them from just taking them to a shelter or leaving them with someone willing to care for said animal? Most shelters don't euthanize the animals upon arrival, and actively find good homes for them, so the fact that people would still rather just dump an unwanted animal in a random location just boggles my mind...

I think this is going to be one of the best things that could ever happen to Snoop. He deserves so much more than to be with such uncaring people like that. His true, forever family are going to be so happy to welcome him into their REAL family. Chin up, Snoop! You're almost there! As for his previous "owners".......Karma is a cruel mistress who misses nothing.

there should be no excuse for this in a western country with services for unwanted animals. this person may as well have murdered the animal because doing this is basically condemning it to death if it's acclimatized to domestic life. If you can afford a car, you can afford to have advertised it for adoption

Last year, couple of days before Christmas I found a 3 months old puppy on the street. She was sitting next to a building, shaking. I had a short walk with a 10 years old dog with serious separational anxiety, who was waiting for adoption after he lost his owner and was sent to a shelter. I picked up the puppy, I was also shaking because of anger and sadness. In less than a day I found for the little girl a forever home. She has an amazing life now with 4 kids and a loving family. So lot of people are thankful for that bastard who left her on the street while it was freezing. I left posters about the dog all around, maybe she was just 'lost'. But after a day someone removed my ads. It was clearly an intentional act of cruelty. (After couple of months the old boy also found a lovely home. They are working together on his anxiety issues. Beside that he was the most amazing animal I've ever met.)

That can't be legal, right? I hope someone tracks them down and reports them to the police. This is disgusting. Even if you don't want/can't care for an animal anymore, it's not okay to just dump them off somewhere on the side of the road.

Remember when you adopt a pet it is forever. If for some rare and extreme reason you cannot keep the pet you have an obligation to find a forever home. Also spay and neuter your pets if you don't plan on having them get pregnant.

This is one of the few types of crime where I firmly believe that the perpetrators should be publicly named and shamed. They should be placed on a permanent register of people who commit cruelty and abuse - these people are disproportionately narcissistic and/or psycholpathic, and such people never learn to properly understand the social unacceptability of such behaviour. Publicly shaming them may serve to minimise their propensity to repeat their bad behaviour: geting away with such crimes is a sure-fire way to guarantee that this behaviour will be reinforced.

My little cat was left behind - shortly before giving birth to one kitten - and the brought to the shelter. In those almost 16 months she's with me, we had so money vet visits, because she has a lot of health issues - mostly, due to lack of care taking. At the same time, she developed a trust in me that never ceases to amaze me... She's my heart and Iove her dearly. At this time, we got the diagnosis cancer and I don't know if she'll survive 2019. But I make sure that she's comforted, loved and happy until the very end - and my second cat, my goofy sunshine, will be there too.

I can't even fathom how someone could be so cruel and heartless?, dogs thrive on love and care and i'm glad he was found not too long after. He was found in his bed, it makes me so sad thinking how scared and confused he must of been. There are plenty of places to take an unwanted dog, no need to dump on the side of the road. The guy didn't seem like he was totally cool with the situation either, like he has no choice the way he was doing it and then sat there for a while after, i'm not justifying it in anyway, he deserves to suffer for dumping the handsome boy. Snoop my furry friend, you are better off without them a******s anyway, you will be just fine, look at that face.

Please tell me he got adopted. I can't bear to watch the video. When I was 8, I brought home a stray, in the dead of winter. I fed him, kept him warm and hid him in the attic for 2 days until he started yelping and my parents discovered him. They brought him down and my grandfather, who used to live with us at the time, was not happy. Since it was the dead of winter he was allowed to stay with the promise that come spring, he would be taken to a far off place and let go. Spring came and my grandad felt the puppy needed to eat and grow up a bit more, then summer was upon us and it was too hot to let him go, then the rains happened and it wasn't safe out for stray dogs and then another winter. He stayed warm with us for 16 winters and stayed cool for 16 summers. My grandad loved him to death. We have housed multiple stays since then, many got adopted, but many stayed from winter to spring, spring to summer and many years beyond.

One of our dogs has a similar story. He's about 14 now and currently snoring on the sofa, pressed up against me while I type this; a fine old gentleman and wonderful companion. The walking buckets of rancid vomit who did this to Snoop are less than human things that deserve whatever pain and punishment may be applied. People don't deserve dogs.

Saw this a few days ago and I could only watch it once....I cried my eyes out for that poor baby. At first, he looks like he thinks him and his owner are going on an adventure together, his tail is wagging and he looks so happy and excited but when the owner runs back to the car and they take off with that poor dog trying to run after them....that just broke my heart. I had sweet pupper in my lap when I watched it and afterwards, all I could do was cry and hold him close and tell him how much I love him and how I'll NEVER EVER under any circumstances leave him behind. I wish I could have just 10 minutes with that sorry piece of s**t that left him. I'm not usually violent but I'd be willing to make an accepting in this case.

It was very hard for me to look at the pictures of that poor dog. We have four Blue Heeler dogs on our farm and love every one of them as family. At night they all sleep on our kingsize bed with us. We did have five, but Tucker the oldest ,died six months ago of old age. He went in his sleep at 17 yrs old. My wife and I cried our hearts out. Tucker and I went everywhere together. We buried him on our farm . Our grand daughters made him a plaster of paris head stone with colored glass stones in the shape of a heart. He was my best friend and I miss him. Dogs are born to break your heart. However, the joy, friendship and loyalty are worth it . To the person or persons that left that poor dog ,I say this. Payback is a b***h. Believe me ,it'll happen . The upside to this, is the dog will have a better home and new friends that will give it love.

I adopted my cat from an organization that rescues pets from kill shelters. I don't know exactly what happened to him, but they told me his previous owners didn't take good care of him and the bone at the tip of his tail seems to have been broken and healed over crooked at some point. He's the sweetest cat I've ever met. I can pick him up and carry him around, he follows me everywhere and loves belly rubs like a dog. I wonder why the person chilled in the car for so long before driving away. There is even a jump-cut in the footage. Same with the car sitting at the intersection after initially moving. I wish there was a camera in the car with audio.

There should be simple penalty for that. At own cost he should be taken by to S.America, later led by Indians deep in the jungle, and left with his bed... if he finds home between monkeys or snakes that’s fine. If not that’s even better.

WTF is wrong with some people? How can they abandon a poor animal? There are shelters, or people who could adopt it, if only they made the effort to look for a safe home for their pet. I would never, ever, ever, trust a person who can do this kind of things, or who don't feel sad when they see these situations. Really, we are such a selfish species! We don't deserve dogs. I hope these bastards crashed into a wall on their way home and need a wheelchair the rest of their lives. The dog could have starved or freeze to death for all they cared, why should I feel sorry for them? And I'm happy the poor dog has been rescued and is Ok.

Since they have CCTV, they'll probably be able to find him and prosecute him. That's great, but it's also not because people like that just learn not to do it in the city so they don't get caught by a camera. Perhaps dumping him in the city was good luck for the dog since someone saw him and took him to safety. It does NOT in any way excuse the evil act of abandoning a member of your family who has loyally worshipped the ground you walk on!

That video was painful to watch, for us who love animals with our whole heart are unable to fathom such a horror video, of course people have many options to give the dog up and it would be less painful for the dog. When I am going out I make sure everything is perfect for my pets, fresh food and water, lights are on and T.V. or radio, when I get home I have an abundance of love waiting for me, I am blessed. For all the pet lovers, especially those who have adopted, bless all and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!!

I had to give away my dog before I moved into my new apartment (I had to move because my landlord didn't renew my lease because she decided to sell the house) because they didn't allow animals but I went out of my way to find her a good home rather than dump her in a shelter or abandon her.

Help prevent abandoned pets. Spay or Neuter every time. Boxers are as cute as any other puppy, but when they grow up they need as much food as a person and are high maintenance. I feel as bad for the people as I do for the dog. They should have taken it to a shelter though. Help control the pet population. Have your dogs and cats spayed or neutered.

I wonder what goes through the heads of people who just dump animals like garbage along the roadside. What's preventing them from just taking them to a shelter or leaving them with someone willing to care for said animal? Most shelters don't euthanize the animals upon arrival, and actively find good homes for them, so the fact that people would still rather just dump an unwanted animal in a random location just boggles my mind...

there should be no excuse for this in a western country with services for unwanted animals. this person may as well have murdered the animal because doing this is basically condemning it to death if it's acclimatized to domestic life.

This is why I dislike people because they suck. Give me a dog over people every time and I would be so happy. People just suck.

This genuinely makes my heart hurt. I struggle to believe how cruel human beings can be. I have a Staffy, and he's my baby, and has been for 7 years. The thought of breaking his heart like that is enough to make me cry.

May the wrath of Karma rain down on this horrible person. I have asked this before so many times: Would the perpetrators abandon their own children in a similar fashion?

Some people deserve pets, most of us don't. Fact: 20,000 people are killed by dogs each year, wolves kill 10 people per year.

Ugh heart breaking :( I used to live on a remote road, and across from my house was a gravel pit/gun range. People would dump boxes of kittens with the mom cat like every few months it was ridiculous. We took in a few but the rest we had to take to the shelters. Many cruel people in this world.

I can't fathom how anyone would want to get rid of a cute cat like him.

My mother taught me that you can't "hate" people because it's such a strong word. But I truly, from the bottom of my heart, HATE people that abandon and torture animals! I hope they rot in hell. That poor dog deserves so much better and I hope that he gets to spend the rest of his life in a warm, loving home.

Its not an excuse as there are shelters and animal rescues. Yeye was a 9 month old kitten found half dead left in a rental home garage with a pile of garbage. it was the end of November in subzero temperatures without food, heat or water for 2 weeks. I hope that Snoops has a happily ever after just like Yeye, He deserves to be spoiled and loved. 12375954_1...db99eb.jpg 12375954_1533611190294925_665241688358806013_n-5c24622db99eb.jpg

Matthew 25:40: "In reply the King will say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’" Really, aren't we all brothers ...including the precious animals of this world?

Boxers definitely do not need more food than a human, that's just a sure way to make your dog fat and unhealthy.

I cannot watch this video. Abandoning an animal is the worst thing a human being can do. I do hope someone found this lovely fellow and gave him a home.
