576 Border Collies Get Together In One Place To Break A World Record
49Kviews
A single dog can instantly turn a disastrous day into a fabulous one just by looking at you. Australians were fortunate enough to witness what 576 could do. That’s how many Border Collies got together in a park in Willaston, attempting to break the record of most Border Collies in one place.
The event that looked like heaven on Earth was organized by the Border Collie Owners of South Australia group. It raised over $6,000 for charity and shattered the previous record of 503 dogs that TV veterinarian Dr. Katrina Warren arranged in 2013.
The Guinness Book of World Records, however, does not acknowledge benchmarks relating to specific breeds. But this didn’t stop collie-lovers and the K9s themselves from having a blast during the colossal gathering where no cats were invited.

Aren't they absolutely wonderful? They're all so happy and smiling as if they are on vacation. This is why I love dogs so much. They are just wonderful children, who enjoy live to its fullest. Its a shame that we can't All be this happy.
Please, please city dwellers, DO NOT make these beautiful animals trendy. They are NOT suited to most peoples' lives. They are smarter than you. No, seriously, they are. They get bored easily and will look for trouble. Border Collies are very much a working breed and they NEED to work. ... They are VERY athletic and require more exercise every day than a marathoner. Sitting all day in a city apartment would drive them bananas. .... PLEASE to not let the Kennel Club turn these wonderful dogs into inbred idiots, as they've already done to Red Setters, Cocker Spaniels, and pugs. All of these breeds have been deformed and ultimately destroyed by breeding for looks. Don't let's go there.
I support you 100%. Some people only search for a dog that looks good or cute and etc. But such irresponsible human beings wouldn't know what hit them if they get a border collie. I don't have any personal experience with border collies but I've met other herding breeds and I own a corgi. Those people had been warned by me as well: herding dogs are smart. VERY SMART. EXTREMELY SMART. If they don't find a way to entertain and exercise their dog as well as training it, it'd train them instead.
YES! PREACH! Along with that, PLEASE adopt, DO NOT and I repeat, DO NOT shop or breed!! Many people contact a breeder to get them whatever breed they want and then what are the rest of the puppies supposed to do? They may not get - and I HATE to use this term - bought, so they end up... where? The side of a road or in a shelter. You can help a dog in need, or create one with brothers and sisters who wouldn't have to go through this trauma if it weren't for you. This is a very big issue because dogs used to be mixed and happy that way. Then the rich victorians came along and selectively bred dogs so they would have certain features that they liked. The entire concept of breeds is false and cruel. Many dogs have health issues that could easily be resolved if you just let these dogs breed with other 'breeds'. I agree with you, but not breeds, dogs as animals have been destroyed. I honestly dream of a day where the AKC has been dissolved. Keeping animals like this is abuse.(1 of 2)
Have you seen a pug? They have so many breathing issues! But we 'love' pugs because they're so cute! Aww! NO. If you really loved them, you wouldn't do this to them. Sorry, I just vented! IN CONCLUSION you can have a cute dog if they're a mutt, so don't get a dog for their breed, get them because you want to help them. Dogs that are mutts are almost always cuter. At least in my eyes. Here is a picture of my dog. He's a mutt and is pretty darn cute, if you ask me. AND he's genetically healthy! WOW! THE WHOLE PACKAGE! 2017-04-09...11a12a.jpg
I totally agree.
When it was time to leave, did all of them start running around the entire crowd to keep them together?
LOL!! Omg I'd just taken a bite of food when I read that...it almost got real gross here at my house.
