Mom Lists 27 Things She Wishes She Knew Before Having Kids, And Parents Are Applauding Her
If there’s anything we can be sure of about parenting, it’s that it has quite the learning curve. It seems you’re reading all the books, attending all the classes, then your child comes into this world and you still have more questions than answers.
To give first-time moms and dads a better understanding of the everyday problems that are about to happen, Casey Huff has just shared all the things she wished she knew before becoming a mom. From googling your kid’s “symptoms” to feeling guilty after an inevitable mistake, parents from all over the internet really applauded Casey’s parenting tips talking about the realities of raising kids.
“Motherhood has given me a purpose I didn’t know I had,” Casey told Bored Panda. “There’s something really humbling about having little kids who depend on you for everything, and it’s really put into perspective the things that really matter in life.

As you might’ve understood from Casey’s parenting hacks post, there are moments when things simply don’t go the way you’d want them to. That’s OK. “If you’re at a low point and can’t physically take a break from raising your kids, find other ways to take a step back,” the mom advised. “Cancel a few activities you have planned. Have your kids take more independent time (even if it means turning on the TV for a bit longer than usual) for themselves so that you can find a few minutes of quiet for yourself. Wake up thirty minutes earlier to get a slower start to the day. Any way you can think of to find a few extra minutes of calm and quiet… Do it. It’s good for your mind, heart, and soul, and in return, it’s good for your kids!”
“We’re all in this together,” she added. “We all parent a little differently (which is okay), but we all need to step up and support one another. Being a mom is hard, but knowing someone has our back makes all the difference.”
Casey’s words really resonated with a lot of people

Share on FacebookI am a father of two and I agree... But you will never find any photo of me, my wife or our children on social media
Wow, I thought I was the only person who doesn't put pictures of my child on social media! I always feel like an outcast when I ask people not to put pictures of my child on the internet.
Load More Replies...I agree with all statements, except no. 7. This statement is only true within certain limits. Sometimes it’s not enough for parents to have the best intentions. There are some rare cases where parents refused medical treatment of their children because of religious or any other believes, resulting in the death of children. There was at least one case in the US where a little child died because of the raw vegan diet the parents imposed on that child.
Yes, number 28 should be vaccinate your child! You do not want them to suffer from diseases that can be avoided!!

Load More Replies...First of all stop listening the advice of the ''super mom'' on internet. they're a plague!
I'm guessing that most of them lie in their posts to make themselves look better.........I know I do.
Load More Replies...You love your kids more than anything in the world but there are times where you just don’t like them lol.
Amen to that! While I would jump in front of a truck to save my kid, sometimes I don't want to be in the same room lol it's ok to not be ok- put them somewhere safe, take a breather for a few minutes, then go back and tell them you love them....
Load More Replies...A steady diet of them would be, but once in a while is not going to hurt anyone.
Load More Replies...Thank you, I'm on my way to being a first time mom and there is a lot of pressure to do things a certain way. It's nice to have someone bring things into reality a bit.
Do vaccinate your children. Do let them get bored - only then will they use their imagination and creativity to come up with their own play scenarios.
Load More Replies...We had 1 child, our daughter. We laugh that she was so grown up from the beginning, she actually raised us!
Don't ever, ever hesitate to ask for help! Even if it's just a lunch date with an old friend ( or your honey), take some 'me' time. Forget being selfish. If you don't take care of yourself, you can't do a great job taking care of anyone else. No matter what age you are!
My parent tip is to always have snacks. ALWAYS. Snacks in your purse, diaper bag, car, cargo pants pocket, etc. Your kids will be hungry the second you leave the house whether or not they just ate a 3 course dinner. A whiny hungry kid is no picnic. But pull out a snack... and you are Super Parent!
I would add take advice or criticism from people who HAVE NEVER HAD CHILDREN with a grain of freaking salt. They have no idea what they are talking about. No idea.
I'm a grandmother now and the what I told my children when they were about to become parents is, "you will make so many mistakes that you regret but the most import thing you can do is to love your children unconditionally and make sure they know that you do,"
It is must to love your children, I'm not so sure about unconditional love though. Your responsibility also is to raise your child to be a decent and compassionate human being!!! If you don't do it yourself, the world will....and it might be painful. I say that parents are the creators of their children's fate.

(Social media didn't exist when he was a kid, but I would have DEFINITELY posted pictures). 20170127_1...4a98d2.jpg
I wish that my mother had read this sort of thing so many years ago. She was too young to start with kids. So was my father. They just were. Maybe they would have shown some love.
If your kids are misbehaving in Target and you are ignoring it because you are on your phone, that’s a problem, ditto a restaurant. Screen time can be abused by all and is addictive for all. Otherwise, bless this advice.
In some cases it isn't. Like for my children it was actually bad for them. There are also moms who mentally can't handle it, which is not good for anyone. I also can't tell you how much it made me feel like c**p when I was scolded by another mother for feeding my children formula, which was the best for them. There were times it left me in tears.

One thousand upvotes for number three. I get so tired of the screen being blamed without any consideration for the content.
1. Content. 2. Duration. Screen time is not the enemy. Screen time is not a friend.
