39 Of The Best Beards From 2017 World Beard And Mustache Championship
1.1Mviews
Editor's note: The World Beard and Moustache Championships are quite possibly the best things ever to happen to facial hair. Since 1990, the semi-annual competition has turned growing and grooming into a high-class art form, and the 2017 edition just wrapped up in Austin, Texas, over the weekend.
Photographer Greg Anderson was on the scene taking poignant portraits of the wildest and most wonderful entries, and here they are for your enjoyment. Be sure to vote for your favourites, and let us know which ones you might dare to try yourself.

I love the way the tips of his mustache appear to be balancing his hat. His entire ensemble is perfect.
I hope they take some of these participants' looks and make them into video game characters... Or maybe these guys got their ideas FROM video games? Anyway, I love them all!
You know, up above in a post about "Squiggly" makeup, everyone's complaining about impracticality. No one cares that these interesting beards might be considered that too.
I think it's more because squiggly makeup was intended to wear out as normal and everything while these were for a championship, as noted above. I'm betting that most of these gentlemen wear their beards as normal at any other time. While squiggly makeup is actually intended to go out in the world everyday, this was more of a short time period. It's like trying to call a weekend's cosplay impractical. Sure, it may be if you wanted to take care of it and groom it all the time, but some quick fun won't hurt.
I think most of those squiggly lips etc are for makeup shows and modeling/fashion shows.
This comment. All of this.
I believe they were styled all wonky just for the photoshoot. But if anyone walks the streets in this style - I have to say, kudos for commitment.
I was thinking the exact same thing. There it's an "ugly waste of time", but here there's no such comment... Such double standards.
Double standards
Yes, but the sqiggly makeup is also ugly. This is somewhat interesting and attractive. Also, if I guy I would be going out with would do this, I don't know that I'd agree to be seen in public with him
This is just not my thing, but they are awesome beards. I would love to see the pics of their competition beards next to pics of their everyday beards.
who will do Davy Jones next year with all the costume and props except his beard are the tentacles
