Nutritionist Advised Woman To Do These 3 Simple Things, And She Lost 150 Pounds

It’s almost universally agreed that losing weight is not an easy task, as it requires discipline, determination, and focus. However, a 37-year-old Amanda “Mandie” Wood found three things that made losing weight so effective, she managed to drop 150 pounds in just about 2 years.
Mandie started her weight-loss transformation in the Fall of 2015, after getting fed up with feeling invisible and tired all the time. At that time the woman weighed 375 pounds and fit size 28. Amanda felt like it was time to change and consulted a nutritionist who helped her balance her diet, by determining appropriate portion sizes, her calorie intake, as well as giving tips to start a healthier diet. “I follow balanced macros, which for me means that I try to ensure I am getting 35 percent of my calories from carbs, 25 percent of my calories from fat, and 40 percent of my calories from protein,” Wood told PopSugar.
The second step was exercise. After a couple unsuccessful attempts at the gym, she ended up getting a personal trainer, which Mandie admits was a great investment. “Now going to the gym is one of my favorite times of the week”.
Amanda says that the key point of her journey was finding balance and setting reasonable goals. “Five pounds is much more manageable than the 200 pounds” she explains. In the end, she encourages people to simply be kind to themselves as no one is perfect, saying: “Just don’t give up”.

The first rule was to determine appropriate portion sizes and balance her diet
“I am getting 35 percent of my calories from carbs, 25 percent of my calories from fat, and 40 percent of my calories from protein”
The second step involved hiring a personal trainer to learn all the needed exercises
“I have never actually admitted to anyone how heavy I had been”
“Now going to the gym is one of my favorite times of the week”
Amanda says that the third tip is setting small, achievable goals
“Five pounds is much more manageable than the 200 pounds”

40% of her body weight?! That is ridiculously impressive.
I'm so impressed. Honestly makes me feel like I can shed the weight I need too! Thank you.
Good for you, Amanda! This is the kind of inspiring story I like to see, rather than the type where overweight people complain about fat shaming and body positive. Being overweight is unhealthy.
It is, but that's still no excuse for fat shaming. Working yourself to death is also unhealthy and we don't harass those people either.
Fat shaming no, but praising obesity as a normal and beautiful thing also a NO.
That's because people are too busy admiring the results to consider how possibly unhealthful and permanently damaging that can be, as well. Extremes in either direction are not healthy.

People only really "fat shame" on these posts when the article is about "healthy at any size" or some other ridiculous assumption like if you won't date an obese woman that you're some sort of a bigot. In those cases, we call it "fat shaming" but really it's "idiot shaming".

That's enterily not true. Liberals twisting the truth in order to make it fit their beliefs and feel better about themselves. If you're an ignorant about medicinex, physiology, sports physiology, etiology, etc the very least thing you can do is to stfu and say something that is NOT true.

I dunno where you from. But from where i am, we do make fun of those workout try-hard. Never heard the clichê that workout people are dumb?
fat shaming will not actually help anyone and that is the problem.. people who are body positive are more likely to become healthy and lose weight. i think you're just an asshole honestly
Agreed. Many fat shame with a comment similar to "It's unhealthy/I'm concerned for her health." It's an excuse to bully someone under the guise of health. These comments never come from medical professionals, and are almost always directed at women.
