Beleaguered UK railway company Southern Rail isn't exactly used to good press these days. Industrial disputes, reduced services, and late-running trains have seen public anger at the rail firm grow exponentially over the last year, but all of that seems to have been temporarily forgotten thanks to an unlikely savior in the form of a 15-year-old student called Eddie.

Southern Rail have recently put the teenager, who's currently on work experience at the firm, in charge of the company's Twitter account, and it seems like people can't get enough of his cheery charm. He's even spawned a hashtag - #askeddie - thanks to his willingness to answer all sorts of weird and wonderful questions that the public have been throwing at him. Putting Eddie in charge has been one of the most popular decisions the rail company has made in quite awhile. Let's just hope they offer him a job!

That's HARD. One duck sized horse would be awesome. But 100 duck sized horses... I'll take them. I will tame them and they will become my forever friends and they will follow me everywhere. Yeah.

So clever. (Notice he doesn't actually suggest which type of chair would be *less* steady? Guy's a natural diplomat!)

Eddie goes to twitter when he's at work at the railway station. My guess is he likes twitter more.

It's the egg. Think back to the very first thing you'd call chicken, that evolved/mutated from some other bird/dinosaur. That previous animal laid eggs.

You're correct, Eddie. You can get an egg from the chicken, but ir you just start with the egg ... who will keep it warm til it hatches?

It depends on what you believe in. If you are creationist - it's the chicken indeed, cause God made it. But if you know evolution, the egg is an obvious answer - animals were laying eggs way earlier than chicken species came into existence.

BUT THERE WERE EGGS OF OTHER THINGS LONG BEFORE CHICKENS EXISTED! And if you mean chicken eggs, I can prove that one too. The first chicken was born out of an egg. Whatever laid that egg was a very close relative to the chicken, but was slightly (and I mean like a tiny tiny tiny amount) different/less evolved than the first chicken.

It has to be egg. You need something what is not-a-chicken. This creature will lay eggs and from one of them nearly-a-chicken will be born. After few generations there will be egg from nearly-a-chicken and from this one a real chicken will be born. So you must have chicken egg BEFORE you have chicken, but this egg was produced by nearly-a-chicken.

Agree! If egg comes first and follow the logic, the earth was with eggs and seeds instead of all the animals and plants!

I love the way he bounces these back - asking "You?" on the end. A nice way to extend a convo, or signal that his answer is personal, not absolute.
