A haunted place means to be cursed or occupied by ghosts. But not all places are haunted by just ghosts. Sometimes you feel things you are not supposed to feel. Sometimes you hear things you are not supposed to hear. Sometimes you see things you are not supposed to see. Most of the time, those factors decide if that place is haunted or not. Tunnels are horrifying. The darkness hides many secrets, always leaving one question behind, “Are there two entrances/exits, or just one entrance/exit?”

The Blue Ghost Tunnel

This place’s ghosts dates back to earlier than 1980 Since then, this mysterious tunnel has earned a reputation for spirits and blue lights. It took about a year to build the tunnel, which was completed in 1875. Many tragedies have happened near this tunnel; many deaths had happened at the site, and a devastating train crash had taken place near it. Some viewers had claimed to see blue spirits and could smell the past crash and other horrifying occurrences.
Sensabaugh Tunnel

Within the graffiti of the Sensabaugh Tunnel’s walls, many legends hide inside. One legend has it that if you turn on the car’s ignition in the tunnel, a series of ghostly occurrences will occur. Others claim to have heard a baby crying, and others report a mysterious man in their rearview windows. The rumors of the hauntings of the Sensabaugh Tunnel date back to 1960. Some say that a baby had drowned in a shallow pool nearby, which was now named Crybaby Pool.
The Shanghai Tunnels

According to local rumors, a few swindlers had kidnapped men nearby, and deposited them directly into underground tunnels. The innocent men had been held captive, drugged and sold as unpaid workers. Some managed to escape. These dark and mysterious tunnels are said to be haunted by the captives who had died.
Moonville Tunnels

This tunnel is said to be haunted by a lonely brakeman carrying a lantern. This narrow tunnel used to be an active railroad, but back then, the railroad had killed many foolish people trying to take this as a shortcut. Newspaper reports prove that at least four brakemen had been killed here.
Gold Camp Road Tunnels

People driving through these tunnels claim to hear the voices of children. In the first and second tunnel, you hear the horrifying laughing of the children. Then, in the third, screams of the children are heard. Rumors have it that a bus of children had been killed when the tunnel collapsed (true) though no evidence of a bus of children being killed has been found.
Church Hill Tunnel

The Church Hill Tunnel is not feared for its ghosts, but instead it’s vampire. Supposedly, workers had been crushed by the tunnel collapsing, and woke the vampire up. The vampire is rumored to be bloody and horrifying, but now lives in a nearby cemetery.
Hoosac Tunnel

At least 193 workers died from explosions, fires, and drownings at this tunnel. So at least one death had been a murder, right? Many say that at the tunnel, you hear groans of agony and see ghostly figures.
The Screaming Tunnel

Some say that when you stand at the center of this tunnel and light a match, you’ll hear the screams of a girl and the match will be immediately blown out. The story behind it is gruesome. A girl’s house had been burnt down by fire, so she ran in search of water in this tunnel, but died before she could find any.
