My dog would wait till the screenless screen door was opened to come in even though we would walk through the closed door frame and he would see us do it fine. In his mind closed doors can't be walked through no matter what

This would be my Sugar.....She can open the door to go out, but not open it to come in.

That was Jillian when we first got her. In out in out for a weekend Monday we got a dog door.
My clever dog has learned to ring a bell to ask to go out; now he is in and out every five minutes

I can't help thinking that dogs were put here to keep us grounded and humble. It's hard to be arrogant when your dog forces you to make stupid noises and roll around on the floor.
