40 Times People Saw Infuriating ‘Choosing Beggars’ In Action And Just Had To Share (New Pics)
We all know the saying 'beggars can't be choosers?' but time and time again people like to challenge this idea by doing the exact opposite. Here at Bored Panda, we love to share some absurd stories and nothing is quite as ridiculous as choosing beggars who take no issue with asking for handouts - but only on their own inconsiderate terms.
The following list is a collection of posts from the internet of the best of the worst of these cheapskate types. From haggling over price points to roasting their loved ones for thoughtful gifts scroll down to check out these ridiculously rude people and don't forget to upvote your favs!

A Brilliant Way To Deal With "Influencers"
That's how you find the true influencers vs the scammers and s**t heads
It's a good trait to be generous - but it's also good to know when you're being taken advantage of. Not everyone has the skills to say "no" to moochers, users, and choosy beggars, so Bored Panda has collected some various tips. First, it is important to communicate the boundaries or conditions around what you are giving to them.

This Groomer Is Definitely Prepared For All The Choosing Beggars
If you want to help, haggle or handout - go for it- but also know that it is ok to say "no"! Some people take generosity to mean that you can be pushed to give more and more. If someone has assumed that your niceness means that you won't say no, respectfully remind them of your limits. In some cases, people won't want to continue to have transactions after you turn them down, and that's ok.

Don't let yourself be consumed by guilt - set your boundaries and stick to them. Just because you can be accommodating doesn't mean you should. Most of us are taught it is a social norm to share what we have with those less fortunate, but giving back doesn't mean sacrificing your worth. Sure you can afford to cut a little off a price, but you are not responsible for other people's financial burdens. Remember if you give an inch to someone who is trying to take advantage they will want more.
Choosing Beggar
Two years ago I saw that guy with the gas can begging for money. Tried to give him four dollars, but he said he doesn’t take anything less than five. After that I saw him there everyday for months. Turns out he’s a fraud with a new Jeep and a nice house. Been following him with this sign since.
This Guy Gets It
I've had the pleasure of such an experience. A colleague of mine, who was in the marketing department (she was just playing Candy Crush all day long most of the times) came to me with a purely illogical and physically impossible request, for a packaging. I politely tried to explain her using her very limited technological knowledge and abilities, that it cannot be done, why it cannot be done, and that I'm not gonna waste my time doing that. I also offered her alternative solutions. Her reaction: "OK!!! Then I'LL DO IT!! It can't be that hard." I gave her my seat, took a step back and enjoyed the rest of the show. She sits on my chair, adjusts it for a minute, stares at the Illustrator window for 10 seconds and says "OK, now TELL me what to do next!!!" I burst into laugh and invited her out of my office before she deletes something important.
Lastly, don't feel bad when you shame a freeloader. We should always treat others with respect but in some cases, you need to be extra firm. "A freeloader really cares nothing for your needs and thoughts, even if they convince you that they do. They also rarely care for normal social etiquette."

The expression 'Beggars can't be choosers'? first recorded into print in 1546, when it appeared in a book of proverbs compiled by John Heywood. The first form was written as 'Folk say alway, beggars should be no choosers.' Another similar proverb from a different angle is, 'If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride,' which is more rarely used.

Why do people ever think that it's ok, ever, to shame anyone in public, on social medias? Not even stranger, let alone spouse, child or friend. If someone would do that to me, we wouldn't be friends or in touch anymore. If you don't like something about me, talk to me, don't try to shame me online in front of everyone. So rude and disrespectful!

I have a tip for those with little to no income who want to read books: GET A LIBRARY CARD. If your library doesn't have books from a particular author you like, you can message them to suggest they acquire books from that author, they often take suggestions into account when purchasing new books. Don't read pirated books if you can't afford to buy new ones.

Not Good Enough For Her...
It's an awful person. I hope they're not together anymore.
Load More Replies...Hopefully he dumped her a*s, what an absolute b***h. My wedding ring and engagement ring came as a set and cost less than $250 (for both). I absolutely love them but even if I didn’t it is the symbol behind them. My hubby would be in a lot of trouble if he spent a ridiculous amount on jewellery for me. Even our wedding cost around $5000. It was such an awesome day.
I'm married for 7 years, both of us never had a wedding ring. And we are not planning to get one. Legally, rings are not needed to be declared married. So, we just decided to don't need them.
Load More Replies...Is noone going to mention that is a post from A GROUP called "Ring shaming"???
Oh my gosh, I didn't even realize this. Can't believe there is an entire group just dedicated to this!
Load More Replies...I was in the navy and a long time ago I was buying my future bride an engagement ring in Hawaii (my ship was there for war games). I got her a cute little ring that had a single diamond and Hawaiian flowers engraved in it. It was a few hundred dollars, all I could afford. One of my friends (she just recently got engaged) told me that the budget a man should spend is a quarter of his annual Salary and showed me her ring with the huge diamonds on it. I proposed to my girlfriend, she loved it and we have been married for 12 years now. My friend on the other hand broke up with her fiancé.
Mike Crow that's because you have a partner. Your friend had a gold digger.
Load More Replies...1: Rummaging in the personal space? Not acceptable. 2: it could be his mother's ring kept for sentiment. 3: Engagement rings really the meaning and feeling is the important part.
Also, she wouldn't be the first woman to find an engagement ring in her boyfriend's possession, only to learn later that it was meant for his other girlfriend.
Load More Replies...Just flat out tell him it's not nearly good enough. I mean the woman, the ring is lovely.
I hope he saw this and kicked her to the curb. God can you imagine being saddled to that a*s hat of a woman?
I think that about a lot of people but the a******s always seem to find someone to leech off of for a while
Load More Replies...Ewww.. Please roast and then tell me how to tactfully say no and that he should find SOMEONE different..... That's my solution. If you don't like the ring, Honey, I'm sure he can find someone else's finger to put it on.. Byeee!
And to this I say that boy deserves better then who ever this entitled girl is.
Say “ I’m breaking up with you because I’m a piece of s**t and don’t deserve you” that sounds fitting for ya.
Someone is going to be single soon. I think i saw that on reddit a while back and girl was destroyed for being so materialistic
Wow... what a second class b***h. I hope he figures it out that she found it, returns it and kicks her out.
Now these always frustrate me the most. It shouldn't be about how expensive the ring is. I question how long a marriage that starts with that will last. My wife and I just celebrated seven years yesterday. Her engagement ring was either 30 or 50. Her wedding ring was about the same. She has always said she is perfectly happy with it.
My boyfriend could give me a plastic toy ring and I would cherish it for life.
I would be inclined to think that he bought this for someone else. And what are you doing going through his nightstand drawers?
It's a really beautiful ring, she doesn't deserve it to him.....materialistic
This gal should tell him herself, then he can decide if he wants another ring or another gal . . .
Yes, he should find something different. Not talking about the ring tho.
Why not just be happy that your partner loves you so much he wants to marry you despite the fact that you’re in a Facebook group for shaming engagement rings?
I'm pretty sure if my bf gave that to me, I would've cried for hours, repeatedly kissed his face, and thank him over and over, hell, I cry over small things, like art pieces or jewelry he got me for my birthday. I feel bad because I can't afford to buy him things too, but he says it's fine, but I feel like I'm taking advantage of him for not giving him little gifts here and there qwp
Im so disgusted that so many (mostly) women, directly equate the worthiness of their partners love with the worth of a piece of jewelry. A ring is nothing but a symbol, it's just a trinket. Sadly, some use it as something "one up" their friends, or worse yet, to put your beloved into months, if not years, of debt before they even say "I do". I hope her poor victim of a fiancee" cut bait and ran before it was too late.
i'd be happy to tell him no for her...no, he should not propose and yes, he should get a new girl
Yeah, he does need to get something different--a different girlfriend!
EXCUSE ME!!! THAT PIECE OF C**P, HE LOVES HER ENOUGH TO PROPOSE TO HER AND SHE IS GOING TO SAY NO BECAUSE OF THE RING!!!
....."no, go get a better ring?" Seriously? So, it isn't about love but about what I can buy you? Note, my wife wears a thin gold band. No diamond. And diamonds are only a recent thing, not really traditional, and purely a corporate generated concept. A band of gold though is thousands of years old, because gold never tarnished.
anyone notice she's already wearing a ring on her ring finger on her left hand?
What the f**k are you doing going through his nightstand? He deserves someone much better.
Wouldn’t it be ironic if the ring wasn’t for her, and he was planning on breaking up with her to date the other, and obviously much nicer, woman exclusively?
God, I *guess* the ring is beautiful, I'm just so sick of seeing silver and diamonds, they're so boring and diamonds are a joke at this point. Give me copper and labradorite any day, or anodized titanium!
THREE diamonds, THREE! Hopefully he was planning on giving it to someone else!
As per your request to roast and then how to say no go get something else.... here goes... Girl, you should be ashame of yourself for thinking that wearing a beautiful ring like that is beneath you. My suggestion would be for him to tell you that you need to go find someone who has an ego even bigger than yours, and now that I think of it I don't think they make egos that large. Mission accomplished. Not perfect, but then again neither are you.
Do him a huge favor & say no. Better for him to be alone than to end up with a shallow, mercenary b*tch.
3 diamonds' ring represents 'you expect her past, present and future' and this ring is too beautiful
It’s beautiful. And if you don’t like it. Break up with him and find some one who thinks as you do.
I don't know. I don't really think this fits this post. She isn't a beggar, and this is a ring she'll be wearing the rest of her life. Why wouldn't they go pick it out together? She wasn't saying it wasn't good enough (as in not expensive enough), just that she didn't like it. Personally, I would absolutely refuse to wear a diamond ring, though it seems she more just doesn't like the style.
Though rumagging in the personal space is a no-go for me.
Load More Replies...How about "get lost you selfish witch" once he realizes you are saying now to him spending two or three paychecks on a ring for you. Of note, my wife and I both have simple gold bands...no diamonds. And although my wife loves diamonds, she prefers that her wedding ring be the simple band that doesn't need taken off for every task like folding the laundry, or going camping. She had rings that I bought which cost much more, but our band never leaves her finger, and we both love it that way.
That is beautiful... oh and also seen this before and it was his mom's or grandma's I believe. I hope he dropped her on her a*s.
here's to hoping that everyone roasted HER! it boggles my mind when people are so shallow & materialistic
I'm sure some people just post this c**p for the reactions and it's not real.
Probably the ring was not even for her. I wouldn’t want to spent the rest of my life with such p. of s.
It's just an engagement ring, stupid girl! Even if you dont like it, smile, say yes and stop wearing it after the wedding. Maybe it's his mothers/grandmother's ring? Maybe it has a special meaning to him that you will wear it? Have you thought about his feelings for just about one second?
This is why I hate peoples like that... thankfully there are those who find it disgusting.
Load More Replies...Dear sir, I must inform you that your gf is a defect and below your standard. We recommend an upgrade and advise "you will need to go get something different".
What are you doing looking through his things - and who says it's for you????
Entitled c**t. I hope he saw that post and decided he was better off without her.
Don’t say anything and be thankful for what you get! What were you doing snooping in his nightstand?
Depends on the reason. If it's just that the gems aren't big enough then the person moaning can get stuffed. Design just in itself - okay.

People need to learn the phrase "go f**k yourself, no one else will" as a response to scammers and free-seekers
I hope some of these are fake. What is happening to the human race really?! Disgraceful.
This is a small snippet of humanity magnified by the internet. If you don't think these things happened pre-internet and then I got news for you.

Load More Replies...Honestly, I have to think that at least some of this insane behaviour stems from the whole (rather toxic) 'the customer is always right' culture going on. People get it in their heads that they're entitled to anything if they demand it. It's ridiculous, and it needs to stop, because it creates idiots like these.
We can blame these all on the "participation trophy" trend, i.e. everybody deserves something whether they work for it or not.
Alot of the above is just dealing with scammers in retail situations. Most don't actually apply to a homeless person begging on the street, and it's dangerous to allow the implication to remain. If a person has, for whatever reason, reached a point of desperation in their lives where the best way they can see to make money is to ask a stranger for it, then it doesn't matter to me what they have or don't have. I will help them as much as I am able, without being a d**k about it.
I'm speechless! I really am... I find it hard to believe people like that live among us and haven't suffered any consequences to flip them upside down. The god damn nerve of these people...

Basically what I would say to all the a******s on this story. “You dense mother f****r”
I will never understand some people's ability to complain about free stuff. The first time I encountered this phenomena I was at a ~free~ concert being headlined by a fairly well known band, with an also well known band (that I actually came to see, not the headliner) opening for them. The crowd booed the first band off the stage chanting the headliner's name after only playing like 2 songs. Sometimes humanity can be incredibly disappointing. I had been wanting to see that band play for years. Sigh.
So many of these make me think of that line from the Kids In The Hall's "Decaf" sketch: "B***H, ARE YOU FOR REAL??!?!?!??!"
