If you could change the lives of hundreds of children in just seven days, would you?

Asa is one of the children whose lives can be changed through a much more valuable gift- Education. Together with the other children of impoverished South African communities, she won’t be getting Christmas presents this year. In fact, some won’t even have a bed to sleep on.

Mellon Educate, a housing charity, is aiming to make a difference in just seven days, the time it takes to build an entire school in South Africa. The charity has built and refurbished 8 schools and almost 10,000 children are now within the Mellon Educate Results Programme.

Asa’s daily routine is such a contrast to how children from other parts of the world prepare for their school-day.
