With around 50,000 books, the likelihood of good weather, and an in-house gin bar, we’ve marked this Portuguese hotel as our next holiday destination.
Located in Óbidos, a 700 year-old city around 90 minutes from the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, the Literary Man hotel is the latest part in a wave of bookishness to have swept the medieval city, following the opening of a number of new bookshops, and a literary festival.
Bookworms are faced with a whole array of books from vintage titles, best-selling fiction, and cookbooks. Sadly, not all of them are for sale but that’s no hardship because there’s a massive lounge for you to spend your reading hours in. Oh, and did we mention there’s an in-house gin (yes, GIN) bar for you to get stuck into while flicking?
