Meet Kyle Jennermann (A.K.A. Kulas), a Canadian who fell inlove with the Philippines and wants it to be his home.

He started a website, becomingfilipino.com, to ask Filipinos to help him come up with a list on how he can become one. It’s been a year since he started it, so here are the things he has done so far.

Getting a Filipino name

Kyle was unexpectedly given the name Kulas. He felt honored receiving it and become known in the Philippines with this name.

He also practices Filipino traditions, lives its culture and takes part in the Filipino’s day-to-day activities

He takes time to learn the Philippine martial art: Arnis.

He participates in Filipino customs.

He is riding the Skylab, a Philippine transportation used in rural areas.

This guy truly has become one of us or even has surpassed some of us in living our own culture. He is a reminder how beautiful our culture is and how “fun” it is to be in Philippines, and how great it is to be a Filipino.
