The Bright And Shiny Life Of Small Things As Seen By Photographer Vadim Trunov
Surface tension – while being a cool name for a thriller – is not that significant to humans in daily life. Though it is very much important to frequent subjects of macro photography: insects! Without it, water striders would lead short, tragic lives instead of dancing their defiant ballet on lakes and ponds.
Vadim Trunov seems to have a fascination with these littlest of creatures. When he takes his camera out for a spin – likely near his southern Russian city of Voronezh – he drops in on the private lives of those that creep, crawl and slither.
And if scenes of micro life that look better than the most laborious products of world renowned 3D studios don‘t do anything for you, then there are some squirrels playing nuttball. Or trying to steal his Canon EF 17-40mm lens.
