Minnesota-based artist and writer Ron Miller got curious about what the night sky would look like if the Moon was replaced with any other planet from the Solar system. To grasp the difference better, he replaced the Moon with 7 other planets, keeping them at the same distance as the Moon is from the Earth (which is around 240,000 miles), and did not alter the size proportions of the planets.

What may look like a series of surreal photo-manipulations, actually has little to do with Photoshop! Moscow-based physician Leonid Tishkov has been traveling around the world with a private moon for over ten years now. A lamp installation, which he originally created for a festival of contemporary art, quickly found its way to Leonid’s home and the two haven’t parted since. Leonid calls this project a “performance of a lifetime”, with the moon revealing more and more spaces to him as the time goes.

You may have already seen some of these cute images from ‘Moon Games’ project before, but we just couldn’t resist sharing some more. The author of this project is a French landscape astrophotographer and astronomy journalist Laurent Laveder who shows how some simple props and a bit of imagination can turn the moon into anything you like.
