Amateur photographer Mark Hersch is the perfect example of how improving photo technology is making it easier and easier for more and more people to create beautiful images. This stunning landscape (or skyscape?) was snapped as Hersch’s flight was approaching Chicago O’ Hare International Airport last week. He had his iPhone out to take a picture when the plane took a sharp turn and revealed this incredible sight – the Chicago skyline casting its shadow on the surface of Lake Michigan.

Earth is beautiful and full of surprises. So is Matthew Albanese, a New York-based artist, creating stunningly realistic landscapes from everyday objects and photographing them as if they were a part of the earth. Albanese named his project “Strange Worlds” for it really is strange to see coral reefs made from walnuts, or mountains built from cinnamon.
How many of you have an expensive camera collecting dust instead of making photos? If you have the same problem like me, then you need some inspiration! That’s why I want to show you a breathtaking collection of landscape photography. Hopefully, these pictures will be enough to get you moving. But before you go out to take pictures, don’t forget that an important element of landscape photography is the light to the scenery. It’s best to take photos at dusk or dawn with low angle light.
