The work of Singapore-based artist Keng Lye could easily pass for some nice photos of sea life – except that they’re not photos, but three dimensional photorealistic paintings! Keng achieves the 3d effect similarly to 3d printer – he pours a layer of resin into a bowl and paints it with acrylics, layer by layer revealing more and more of each creature. His painting technique is almost the same as Riusuke Fukahori’s, but Keng found a new twist to it – he made his creations protrude from the surface.

You’ve probably heard a lot of stories about crop circles and aliens, but surprisingly a Japanese photographer Yoji Ookata has found something similar underwater. He discovered a mysterious sand circle while diving off the coast of Japan. It was almost 6 feet in diameter laying around 80 feet below the sea level. Yoji decided to came back with a TV crew to figure out this strange phenomenon.

The Radisson Blu Hotel In Berlin, Germany may look like just another luxury hotel, however once you enter it, you will be blown away by the enormous 82-feet high aquarium in the heart of the hotel’s lobby atrium. The AquaDom is the world’s largest cylindrical aquarium with one million liters of saltwater, and it is a stunning habitat for many species of tropical fish.
This beautiful “Bubble Tank” that’s about to fall off the table was created by Sheffield-based design studio Psalt Design. Just looking at this fish tank makes me uncomfortable, however it “is resting on its counter-balanced weight” so there’s probably nothing to worry about. Made from premium glass, handblown and slumped by a master glassblower each tank has it’s own unique form and individual characteristics.
