This dog was not only abandoned, but thrown away in a dumpster like trash in the city of Botucatu, São Paulo, Brazil. Luckily, a passerby noticed a dog among the garbage, and this is where you take your tissues out. The person who found the dog documented the heartbreaking sight on video—the amount of pain and sadness in the pup‘s eyes is almost unbearable to watch.

This heartbreaking video shows the moment she was first found
“The people who are trying to make this world worse are not taking a day off. How can I?” He wrote. “It’s about this case of a little dog thrown in a dumpster, and about so many other cases that occur every day. I ask all animal protectors not to be discouraged, to celebrate each victory, each adoption, each recovery, etc. (…) Love is stronger than hate and I have faith that soon we will have more effective laws.”
The little dog was immediately taken to the vet for urgent care

Florzinha (or Little Flower translated from Portuguese), as rescuers named her, was immediately taken to the vet of the Municipal Kennel.

A large tumor and ulcers were found in her stomach

Florzinha was checked and groomed, and will be treated with meds before the decision about removing the tumor will be made.
Small tumors were found in multiple mammary glands as well, so she might need a removal of an entire mammary chain

“We will not give up. The veterinarians at the Municipal Kennel will provide her with all the necessary care and I am sure she will soon be in a home that really loves her,” Palhinha wrote in another post. He also encouraged everyone not to waste their energy on blaming and cursing the person who did this, who clearly doesn’t deserve any attention at all. He asked people to direct all the prayers and positive energy towards Florzinha.

Florzinha will continue her treatment until she’s ready to go to a new home

In his last update, Palhinha thanked Petland Botucatu, where Florzinha is being treated, as well as everyone who contributed with medication and food. She’s being very well taken care of, including hot baths and exciting car rides.

The population of homeless animals in the world is overwhelming, and it often happens “thanks” to humans who were responsible for protecting their pet the moment they decided to bring it home. According to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter US animal shelters nationwide every year, and only about half get adopted.
People abandon their loyal animals because they are too challenging to handle, too old, too sick, or they require too much food, attention, and love. The truth is that people who can throw away what was supposed to be their faithful friend in an actual dumpster don‘t have any love to give, and I am actually happy Florzinha gets to live a better life now.

It's one thing to cruelly dump a dog on the side of the road, it's a whole other level of cruelty to put it in the trash where the collection truck could have picked it up and crushed it to death inside the truck. Sick.

I need to stop reading this kind of posts...makes me so utterly angry that I loose the will to live among such horrible evil people...they are every where...and even the good hearts still trying to help this little babies, they are not enough to cover the bad things! Its unbelievable that some people treat the loyal friends, the ones who give unconditional love doesn't matter who you are, they treat them so badly! We never can get so much love as much we get from our 4 legs friends!

We have a senior pup named Lucy aka lulu bear aka lulu-beluga aka just Lu. And she is pampered to the nines. In fact she is having a sleepover this weekend. To do anything but care and love animals, esp your own, is foul and disgusting

She reacts like a dog who has been hit repeatedly in the past. Though that reflex never completely goes away, animals do regain a good amount of confidence in the kindness of their new families, and stop cringing around them. Just give her lots of love and kindness. And time.

Poor doggo! At least this one was lucky and someone found it 😢 they should track the people who did this and apply corresponding measures! You don't throw a living being away.... My dog has multiple health issues, but she's still part of the family. I'd never abandon her like this
I get mad for a little while...then I curse at the being who has exhibited a lack of humanity and respect for life. And then I have chosen to focus my energy on offering loving and healing to the pet who was discarded. Also wishing a joyous relationship with the adopting home. A good rescue story and some followup can be so fulfilling. And a firm belief in the power of Karma somewhere along the line.

Just another piece of my black heart chipped away by the savage acts of "mankind", such an ironic name. Thank you to all involved in the rescue, you are heroes in this world of monsters. Thankfully this beautiful pup was rescued, i wish cancer on the person who dumped her.
I can't watch the video and I had a horrible time trying to read the story. Some people are just so terrible in their actions that I can't understand under any circumstances that anyone could do such a heinous act to any animal. This one is even more heartbreaking. A helpless dog who deserves the world is thrown away like trash when in need of medical attention. It is beyond me. God help them all!
I couldn't watch the video, my heart is broke for all the animals in this world that are treated with cruelty when all they want is love, I despair for this world, sometimes I feel that I don't want to be part of it anymore.
If you can’t afford to take care of a pet anymore or your health has prevented you from being able to care for one, it’s okay it happens, but please do the animal a favor and either find a shelter or a new owner. Don’t just dump them like trash. Believe it or not animals have feelings too and they deserve respect

This kind of abuse gives me panic attacks when I see it. I had to skip over this quick before I couldn't breathe or cried. I rescue elderly dogs. I have three right now and there's six in my little doggie graveyard. I don't understand this at all. It's grotesque. My old puppies are the best and even if their lives are short w me and I'm gutted when they pass away I would never stop taking them in as long as I'm capable
