6 Steps Towards Unintended Self-Destruction In My Autoportraits

The theme of my project is anxiety disorder submitted for analysis and interpreted by me. Whilst choosing the theme I wanted it to be something personal not only to me but for people who could experience this issue.

Anxiety disorders are a category of mental disorders characterized by feelings of anxiety and fear, where anxiety is a worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events. These feelings may cause physical symptoms, such as a racing heart and shakiness. There are a number of anxiety disorders: including generalized anxiety disorder, a specific phobia, social anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, and panic disorder among others. Whilst each have their own characteristics, they all include symptoms of anxiety.

Symbols: the series which I took is full of symbols. These not clearly illustrate chosen anxiety disorders what was my purpose entirely. The way I have chosen to illustrate this project is a new experience for me as a photographer because all the photos from the series are self-portraits.

The locations I have chosen for my shoots are not random as they play an important role in that theme. It is no secret that the bosom of nature is a place for conducive reflections, exposes weaknesses, gives solace and resets the mind. Nature is related to both happiness and mental anguish which is part of anxiety disorder. Another intentional action on my photographs is nudity, which intensify emotional response and gives deep sense. In this case, it is strongly related to nature because it also exposes human weaknesses and fears which we do not talk much about outside the solace zone which is blossom of nature. Each anxiety disorder is assigned to one photo that shows story which is part of the series.
