“The hands, with their size, shape, lines and other marks reveal a huge amount of information. They are the ones who caress, they are the ones that baptize, pray, paint, write, play, they can heal, recreate, raise. There are still people, however, who use them to hit, shake, sniff, shoot… To live in a normal world, we have to relax the tight fists and to offer a helping hand “- shares the Bulgarian artist Angel Chobanov.
“In October 2013, a protest movement was set up in Bulgaria which chose its logo to be the clenched fist – the symbol of the world revolution.
The word revolution comes from late-Latin revolutio (“a turn around”). But if we watch the coin on one or the other side, it does not matter, because its value is the same.
The revolutionists used the same methods as those who they are rebelling against and at some point they become their copy.
The mankind needs another term which indicates the process of growth, change or development: evolution (from the Latin word evolutio, “deployment”, “disclosure”). Evolution of the consciousness, because only that way there will be colossal changes in society. If the mass changes their thinking in a positive direction, the world will become a better place to live. “- says Angel Chobanov.
Everywhere on the Bulgarian streets still stand prints of clenched fists. Chobanov decides to change them and to give them life. The hands now hold a pencil, a feather, a flower, a balloon, a dandelion, a brush, an ice cream, an Olympic Flame, all things that bring out the good.
